Visiting the Doctor

Finally, and irregularly in Kim?s opinion, there was a thin, handsome young man in a smart business suit. He apparently represented the company that had built the probe. At the moment, Lara was speaking, a strand of dark hair falling over her forehead: ?Causalities on the planets surface continue to mount. It now appears the probe has been dragged into the tunnel system by the local creatures, and we?ve had little success in retrieving it. Many personnel have been taken captive by various local creatures, and until reinforcements arrive we?d like to shift focus from retrieval to search and rescue.?

The man smiled indulgently ?I?m afraid that?s quiet impossible Lieutenant, the probe must be your top priority.?

Kim glared ?you jumped up?? she began, but the Captain cut her off.

?That?s enough Lieutenant, Lieutenant, you have your orders, and I will not amend them.? Lara and Kim frowned but rose and saluted.

?Dismissed? Captain Singh said, and the two ground forces officers stormed out.

The corporate smiled a bit after the two left ?I think I should improve their attitude a bit.? He said, eyes predatory.

?Don?t you?? Singh cut herself off as he looked at her, looking directly into the man?s eyes making even her quail.

?It?d be unwise to go against me captain.? The man smiled, running a finger along her jaw line ?you know that.?

Singh stayed silent, a bead of sweat running down her face. The man laughed and got up to leave, walking off towards the officer?s quarters shared by Kim and Lara.
