Terra Serpentis is a world were the snake people are the dominant species.

So they will be the most likely pet-owners.

After a major geological event, the world was basically split in two.

On the one hand, the oceans where the Children of the Water live a nomadic life much like their progenitors on the other hand the landlocked territories of the Drylanders.

However a part of the Drylanders population still lives a nomadic life and another part has settled down, varying from settlements to cities.

Drylanders using a mount that looks like its descended from a giant crab is a common sight.

A further result of this geologic event is the formation of an arid outback where hardened species live and sometimes even thrive.

Terra Serpentis knows three major eras.

The pre-geologic-event era where all the Children of the Water roam the oceans.

The post-geologic-event era where Drylanders roam the land or settle down.

During the geologic event when lithospheric plates collide forming a convergent boundary giving rise to Dry Land and the Outback.

Therefore this is an uncertain time with natural disasters as earthquakes, tsunamis...
