It was a strange moment. Usually at this point her flight or fight reflex would’ve been flying by now. But instead, a lethal calm came over her. She couldn’t remember what, or who, she was before all of this, but her instincts told her she was by no means a coward.
“I think you have me mistaken, beast. By the time I’m done with you, I’ll have a brand new pair of boots.”
She strode up, a flick of her wrist and her newly acquired sword materialized into her hand. She slashed once, and then twice, nicking him on the front leg with the first slice and following up with a grievous wound on its chest.
