Chapter 5 by Krk31

Going home.

Going home

The trio left the main road and walked along some not so busy roads and eventually reached a more suburban part of the city.

The tall buildings grew shorter until they reached the height of normally family homes.

“Why do you want to go home, when you could have had so much fun back there.” Eveline asked.

“Well, you see it’s half past ten and it’s Tuesday. So, my mum will be home shortly.”

The devil got a wicked grin.

“I like where this is going!”

“So, how’s your relationship with your mom?” Angelika wanted to know.

“Well, it’s complicated. On one hand, she makes me responsible for her divorce and hates my guts, because of all the ridicule she had to endure from people around town. On the other hand, she hasn’t kicked me out or murdered me yet. So, I think deep down, she still loves me.”

Sophia and her companions now reached a more high-class part of the town, with bigger homes and some mansions.

“Why do you think that?” Asked Eveline.

“Well, although being a spiteful, cold-hearted, and cruel woman, that begs to be yanked over someone’s lap and given a good spanking, she cares about our family in her own weird way.”

They finally reached their destination.

“Holly hell! That’s’ your home?” Angelika exclaimed, while Eveline ‘s eyes nearly dropped out of their sockets.

Before them stood a giant white mansion. It had a ground floor, 2 floors above it and a smaller 3rd floor that was cornered by the roof. Every floor had a balcony in the middle and the columns that carried the weight of these, reached all the way down to the ground and marked the entrance to the mansion. The roof was orange in colour and the white of the walls had greyish silver lines across it.

“How can your family afford such a mansion?” Eveline asked.

“My mother is the owner of the most successful real estate company in the region. They buy, sell build and demolish buildings and properties. Around 70% of properties and buildings in this city are theirs. My mom’s company makes billions a year.” Sophia explained.

Eveline whistled.

Sophia let them in.

The entrance hall was a massive room with white walls and a two-way staircase at the end, leading to the 1st floor. Between the stairs was a door leading outside to an enormous pool. Outside you could see that the mansion was in a U-shape, with 2 sides of the building cornering the pool.

Sophia noticed the bewilderment of her new friend and explained the layout.

“So, every floor above ground floor is separated into two wings, an east and a west wing, that makes 4 wings in total. Every wing belongs to one of my sisters and the 3rd floor is for my mom and her girlfriend. Here on the ground floor are the more common rooms. Kitchen, dining room, living room, library, playroom.”

“And where do you live?” Angelika asked.

“In the basement. Don’t worry it’s more comfortable than it sounds. It has a sauna and an indoor swimming pool.”

The three went into the kitchen and Sophia got herself an apple and sat down.

“What do you do for a living Sophia?” Angelika questioned.

“I’m in my last year of college. I’m studying History, Geography and English and want to become a teacher. Well, I already am one. I work at a private school for Japanese exchange students and just got excepted as a substitute teacher at the local Senior School.”

Suddenly they heard the front door open and the sound of heels clanking on the floor. The person then entered the adjacent living room.

“That has to be my mom!” Sophia whispered.

She stood up and walked towards the door.

“Come on. This will be fun.”

Sophia opened the door.
