Reassure the panicked demon

"Jae, take it easy," you say. "It's just me, the Adventurer you met in the dungeon, remember?"

He takes another look at you, still squinting. "Oh, I remember you. We f- fff-- Well, you know. It's so bright. Where am I? Is this another part of the dungeon?"

"We're outside," you tell him. "I escaped from the dungeon, and as a reward, the sorcerer let me have you."

"Have me? What do you mean, have me? Like...like I belong to you now? I'm your ****; you're my master?" He paces a short distance across the field, then comes back, his tail lashing the air behind him. "Why would you do this to me?" he asks, tears spilling from his eyes. "I tried to help you!"

"Jae, it's not like that," you say.

"Then what is it like?" he shouts. "You asked the sorcerer if you could 'have' me, and here I am. Your ****--"

"He was going to send you back to Hell," you say, your voice raised. He falls silent. "You did try to help me. You were the only one in that dungeon to be kind to me, and I couldn't let him send you back. I did the only thing I could think of to save you."

He stares at you, his eyes bright with a fresh wave of tears. "You...you saved me." He drops to his knees and bends down, kissing your bare feet. "I owe you my life, and I will do anything...anything you ask...I will be your ****, Master..."
