Finishing Sabretooth

Logan charged at the tree. With one swipe of his claws, he cut through it and exposed Sabretooth standing behind. The larger mutant grabbed him by the neck and threw him backwards. Their fight was feral, visceral and had more blood than Mike had ever even seen in his life. The worst part was, Wolverine and Sabretooth both seemed to heal as fast as they cut each other. Yet, common sense would indicate that by the law of conservation of mass, they could not continue to heal indefinitely. After a certain amount of time, one of them would be taxed out and would start to bleed with some measure of permanence.

Mike wouldn't count on it being Logan.

Creating a telekinetic bubble, he launched it at Sabretooth, creating some distance between him and Logan. It was all the time that Logan needed to get the advantage, cutting Sabretooth in the leg and then impaling him in the stomach. While Sabretooth howled in pain, Logan lifted him up and then threw him through a tree. With a sickening crunch, Sabretooth lay broken with branches sticking out of him as blood pooled over the snow.

"You think I'm going to be the last one he sends after you?" whispered Sabretooth as blood leaked out of the side of lips. "Shiva. Wild Child. Victor Hudson. Cyber. Viper. Your son. I am what you'll become."

Logan didn't say anything, but with a roar and a slash of his claws, he decapitated Sabretooth. Mike Dorie didn't know Logan, so he couldn't know what that kill meant. But even he could tell that Sabretooth had taken a lot from Logan and it had now all finally been paid in full.

"Come on, kid," said Logan, wiping some blood off of his jacket. "Let's get back to the cabin."

"What about his body?" asked Mike.

To that, Logan picked up a rock and used his claws to create sparks. He let the sparks fall on some damp wood and threw them over Sabretooth's corpse. Aside from the adamantium tips to his claws, there would soon be nothing left of the feral mutant worth finding.
