Take a moment to think this through.

You shut the door and return to your apartment, reeling form the reality of what just happened. Jess is already acting like a completely different person. Just like that. It was so easy!

You realize that a power like this could rapidly spiral out of control and have unintended consequences. What if you used it on accident? Was that possible?

You recall the conversation you had that morning with the... whatever it was. It said you had power to manipulate minds, and that has certainly proven true... It also said you had the ability to read them. You haven't tried that one yet. Oh, that's right. You recall something about altering bodies. That one seemed the most far-fetched of all, if you're being honest with yourself, but then, it's been a weird day.

You decide you need some time to mull it all over, make a plan. You don't want to go too deeply too quickly, but at the same time you're itching to really put this new power to the test.

It occurs to you that Jess is going to make an exceptional test subject. You pull out your phone to program her number and add her as a new contact. There's a spot to add a photo.

Hmm. You can easily snap one when she comes back, you think, and save.

Then it hits you. That's the old you thinking. You don't need to wait on anybody else for anything if you don't want to, and Jess is already your primary test subject.

You write her a text:

"Hey, I need a contact picture of you for my phone."

Seconds later, a selfie comes through, along with the words, "Hope you like it!" Its a perfect portrait of a pleasantly smiling, perhaps slightly flirtatious Jess, clearly taken just then in the grocery store. She's actually pretty cute, you realize.
