Coping With Change !

Life was getting complicated for Debbi in England. She was the same Debbi, she retained the ability to laugh at herself and she knew she was no kind of big star. But she was undergoing a Warhol-esque five minutes of fame in the showbiz gossip circles. It became difficult for her to continue to live in her little house. The final straw had been when she had been escorted to the London premiere of Ape Girl by Liam from the boy band Stud Muffin ( Lesley's see through gown had worked a treat and been a sensation on the red carpet ) Hordes of teenage girls, obsessed with Stud Muffin, had descended on Debbi's quiet street to hurl **** for stealing their heart throb, even though it had only been a publicity stunt pulled by Harry.

So Harry arranged for Debbi to rent an expensive apartment in central London with secure access and 24 hour manned reception. Debbi wanted to retain her house as insurance for when the bubble burst and so Lesley came up with the good idea that Sally could rent it, since she wanted to move down south from Leeds to pursue more career opportunities and it would be a cheap option for her.

Debbi endured a further round of promotional interviews and chat show appearances, including a one to one confessional with the leading chat show host about the sudden and unexpected change in lifestyle she had undergone and the difficulties of coping with that. It was with some relief therefore, that Debbi greeted the news from Harry that they would be returning to LA for a few weeks where, despite Ape Girl doing OK at the box office, she would retain anonymity going about town.

"So what's the idea ? No more promotions ?" she asked. "No, Ape Girl's done with now as far as all that's concerned. It just plays out in the cinemas, goes to Blu-Ray, ends up on TV" said Harry. "The US cut for TV I presume ?" laughed Debbi. "I should imagine so" agreed Harry. "Which might boost Blu-Ray sales to get the unexpurgated version ! No, we're going to discuss the alien abduction script with the producers, they seem pretty keen" he continued. "And there's been some interest in doing a photo shoot from the top men's magazine" he added. "The top magazine ?" queried Debbi. "Yes, THE top magazine" Harry confirmed. "Ooh" said Debbi. "I've always wondered what it would be like to be airbrushed !"
