Your mother’s

You select the ‘family’ tab on the Perfect Life+ app to see your entire family puled up and displayed in order of their proximity to you. As you scroll through the list you can see everyone from the closest, your mother who’s just a few doors down the hall, your father who despite the divorce is in town to celebrate your birthday, to your older sister who’s currently studying abroad on an entirely different continent. Scrolling back up to the top of list however you select your mother to see what information the app had for her. You assume it would have her contact information, birthday and other typical information found in similar address books or rolodex apps. To your surprise you aren’t greeted with a simple phone number, you’re greeted with far more.

At the top of the screen is a picture of your mother with her name displayed underneath and filled out below was more information than one could possibly know what to do with. The app gave a plethora of information from very basic things from the woman’s age, occupation, and martial status. The app also included more personal information such as breast size, kinks, and crushes. The more one scrolled down the more esoteric and specific the information became; her favorite ice cream flavor, least favorite pizza topping and more. At the very bottom of the information was an entire biography of your mother complete with a search function one could find any specific event or date in her life and find out about. It was shocking how everything seemed to be filled out and entirely accurate. What was more surprising was the small pencil icon next to each of the categories which you infer allows you to edit any of the information.

You linger on the photo the app has on your mother for a moment before attempting your very first change.
