Scavenging time

Waking up in the morning you wash and get ready for the day but realise you have no equipment to make ready so just get dressed and head off to find Nikki to see what is needed to be done, she is preparing to give a briefing on the days operation so you head to the canteen and wait.

Grabbing some food to eat whilst Nikki or the Major as she should be addressed at the moment gives the briefing it is clear you are not the only one with the same idea as Gabby comes and sits down next to you with a tray of food, " so I hear you are joining Sgt Jules's team to head over to get us some more wheels ", nodding to her as you have a mouth full of toast you swallow it quickly, " yep are you part of the team as well Gabby". Shaking her head she is going to be helping set up some more areas to work with in the buildings around the medical centre, " nope I am to be working on getting things set up here as we lack transport the Major is sending only a small team first to get the vehicles then we can really start scavenging, but she will explain it all".

Waiting for the briefing to start as everyone falls inside the canteen, Nikki takes the front, " good you are all here first up I would like to thank Timothy for offering his help today as this now gives us the chance to load some supplies up on this up coming run, Sgt Jules your team now has six people who can drive six wheelers so we are changing the teams up a bit you will now take Timothy, Private Watts, Bluebaker, Jones and Amber, all of you will travel in the two military 4X4's we have and leave them on sight after loading the trucks with whatever you think is going to be useful but do not spend too much time I just want the trucks, as for why only six of you and only taking the 4X4's it is in case any base personal or other military units are their, less chance of someone getting an itchy trigger finger. Timothy make sure to stay in the 4X4 till you have got on to the base ok". Looking towards the women Nikki has indicated you have meet some before, Bluebaker is Kerry, Becky is Jones and the other two are from the group you helped out of the sports arena, one is Private Ambers a woman with Asian heritage and the other is Private Watts a tall African American woman and both are staring at you now.

Raising a hand you ask if you should be taking anything with you like equipment or firearms and Sgt Jules does not like the last part at all, Major Grant notices this, " Sgt do not doubt his ability to use a firearm in the right circumstance, he is one of the ones who helped clear out the freaks before we found you and was able to determine you had hidden in that room so yes he is getting some gear and he will be issued a weapon for protection". Smiling you sit back and listen to the rest of the briefing which is how they are going to sort out the buildings around the centre to make some more space and make said buildings more secure, which needs materials that they will be finding in the coming days from first local sources then moving further out and once a stable base of operations has been made teams will be formed from all the people in town to do tasks like gather materials and food some will have to travel others will stay in town.

" On a final note we have found a few women who have experience growing food and they along with the beta males are going to be clearing land and filling some of the greenhouses to start preparing to grow food and they have asked for us to try and find some industrial grade hydrogen cells to use in the farm machinery, so Sgt Jules one thing is it to load a truck up with as many as you can find please, right its a four hour drive to the base so you have half an hour to gear up and get going I want you back here before it gets dark ok so no just one more of this or that ok get the trucks get back, that is the main priority you all have".
