A list is made and testing begins.

"Where do you wanna start?" Stacey asks you as she places a bowl of scrambled eggs before you.

"I don't know" you reply, looking up to her as she slides into the seat next to you placing her bowl of fruit salad before her. She leans over and reads the list before you, her face scrunching up in confusion. You look back down to the list you've spent the past 10 minutes creating.

TO TEST:

• Can changes be made permanent? physical test best option!
• Can the magic marker detect time? or can it be timed/given a timer or have a time limit to effect. best test option would be sleep.
• Does it work on other objects?, maybe try turning a banana into an orange? what about living vs inanimate?
• Idea/change being **** on subject vs being OPEN and WILLING. how do they feel coming out? must be careful. more planning needed before testing.
• Do contradicting words erase the effect or does the last one written override the effect? Slutty vs prude, tall vs short etc.
• Is there a limit to the number of changes possible on one body? or is it limited to the amount of free skin?
• Can words already written be added to to alter affect?
• Can the magic marker affect anything around the subject not related to them physically or mentally? Would writing billionaire make money appear in the bank account?
• NOTE: must be careful of word choice and be mindful of HOW they may be INTERPRETED!!!!!

"Why not start with the one that doesn't pose a threat to us." She says putting a finger under 'does it work on other objects?'

"Good idea. No threat to us and an easy test. What do we wanna try it on?" you reply as you look around the room while digging into your breakfast. Stacey reaches behind her and grabs an apple out of the fruit basket on the counter and places it before you.

"Its not a banana, but close enough." she says, shrugging and spears a peace of mango with her fork. Putting down your spoon, you reach forward and grab the marker that was sitting in the middle of the the table. You pick up the apple and think for a second before putting the felt tip to its surface. You quickly write across the glazed red apple, and to your astonishment, watched it turn from red to green.

Stacey's eyes go wide, stopping mid chomp, staring at the apple in your hands. Licking your thumb you wipe away the text you wrote and the apple turns back to its original red. You begin to write again and as you pull the marker away the apple morphs in your hand, a banana now sitting in its place. "Wow" Stacey says softly, grabbing the banana from your palm. You watch as she reads the text now running up the length of the fruit, and then begins to peel it. She squeals and drops the fruit as it morphs back into a red apple, only now it has a large flapping chunk hanging off it side.

Stacey breaths hard, her hand on her chest, as you reach over and pick up the apple. Observing the writing, you can see the last two letters 'na' are now on the flapping chunk, the text no longer forming a whole word. "Well that's interesting" you say with a chuckle as you look over to your shocked girlfriend.

"What happened to it?" she asks her gaze fixed on the apple.

"I think when you peeled it you separated the text into two sections, therefore erasing it as a word, and the magic was disturbed or broken, so it reverted back; but it also kept the damage you did to it." you reply looking at the apple

"OK. So your saying, if the word is disturbed, the object will no longer be affected by it."

"Looks that way" you say placing the apple back on the table and standing up, you retrieve a plate from the cupboard and sit back down. Picking up the the marker you scrawl BOWL on its rim, and are disappointed when nothing happens. You sit back in your seat and think, it worked on the apple, why not on the plate? In the corner of your eye, you see Stacey open her mouth to say something but she stops herself .

"What is it babe, you get an idea" you say looking at her.

"Can I have the marker Finn" Stacey asks extending an open hand towards you. You place the marker in her hand and watch intently as she drags the plate over to her and writes something else on it. You are shocked as the plate suddenly transforms into a bowl in front of your eyes.

"What did you write on it?" you ask sitting forward and looking at your girlfriend. She picks up the bowl and shows you the interior, allowing you to read the word she added. CERAMIC. You look from the bowl to your girlfriends face with a large smile.

"Looks like you were right about choice of words. BOWL is probably a little too open to interpretation, whereas CERAMIC BOWL is more specific."

"Nice thinking babe " you say as she places the bowl back on the table and tucks into her breakfast again. "Well, that answers the question if it works on other objects, both living and inanimate, but opens up a lot more things to test too. Now, what should we test next?"
