Chapter 5 by Gatsha Gatsha

What kind of mobile fighters has Jervale prepared for the ladies?

Two familiar Gundams, but not the ones they were hoping for.

Jervale walked quickly ahead of the two reluctantly-drafted Gundam fighters, folding his hands behind his back and smiling like every bit the mad scientist he was dressed as. The two behind him couldn't see it, but that didn't mean the two didn't find him suspicious... However, their suspicions would have to take backseat to the threat of the Devil Gundam reviving, if that was really the situation.

Finally, Jervale reached his underground hangar. He had thought this would eventually have a purpose when it had previously appeared in the tower, and he had the good foresight to hide it from Mekanee before she could start using it for her crazy contraptions. Now, with the power of the reality crystal, he had stocked it with two perfectly recreated Gundams, pulled straight from the memories of his guests.

Only... these were not Gundams those two would ever have expected to see again. It definitely wasn't Allenby's customized next-generation suit, or Rain's trusty Rising Gundam, heavily armed with equipment even she could use...

Neo Sweden's fighter was the first to speak. "That's... I-it can't be... No way!"

"Neo Portugal's Jester Gundam, from the 13th Gundam Fight," Rain helped her out, although she was just as stunned. "It was supposed to be piloted by the Romario Monini, the clown... But how can it possibly be here? I'm certain it was destroyed by Neo Greece's Zeus Gundam in Wong's Battle Royale!"

If it had been destroyed, someone had done a crackerjack job of repairing it. The Jester Gundam stood in its humanoid form, but it hardly looked humanoid: its face-plates, eyes, and crest were the only recognizably "Gundam" parts of it. The mobile fighter had a green upper torso block, with a lower block decorated to look like a painted clown's eyes and red rubber nose; it had yellow, winding metallic panels which wrapped to protect its thin, grey arms and waist, and arms arched away from the torso in a fixed position to complete its torso's appearance as a jester head by mimicking the cap; its green lower body block had an appearance like bikini briefs, with spindly legs running to red foot armor. Allenby knew that when this thing transformed, it could maneuver as a floating top mode by armoring up and retracting its legs in. It was armed with fire-linked vulcans and machine cannons, but the rest was a mystery... The clown who had piloted it before made use of mimicry to copy his opponents' moves, and could even make illusions by spinning in top form, but those seemed more like magic than standard weaponry or even martial arts techniques.

"I had it repaired," Jervale remarked with a smirk, drinking in their dumbfounded expressions. "Do you like it?"

Allenby thought it was just about the dumbest-looking Gundam she'd ever seen, excluding perhaps the Walter Gundam she'd once been **** to pilot... that is, until she saw the one behind it. "No way. You've gotta be kidding me."

Rain's confusion only grew. "Neo Spain's Matador Gundam, formerly piloted by Carlos Andalusia..." The operator shook her head, trying to make sense of it. "This is even stranger... This Gundam was never destroyed. Andalusia was injured and **** to retire in the Fight, and Neo Spain had to forfeit. How did it get here...?"

The Matador Gundam was, arguably, even more eccentric than the Jester Gundam. It had a horned, beige helmet and armored arms, which was about where its similarity to an ordinary Gundam ended. The majority of its body, from its neck to its hips, was covered in enormous, grey-brown bulky armor that was unmistakably in the shape of a bull head, complete with a red snout and a gold nose ring. Below, it had reverse-joint legs like a bull's hind legs, with matching grey-brown armor and red, hoof-like toe armor, as well as a wiry tail from the back of the head-like torso armor. The bull's horns extended from either side of the head above the shoulders, imposing gold weapons capable of being heated to deal damage. Besides that, it was armed with a standard beam saber and a "beam cloth" in the forearms, capable of deflecting projectiles and wrapping up the enemy. It was capable of retracting its arms and head into itself in order to fire its large back thrusters and ram the enemy... Definitely an unconventional way to fight, but at least not a supernatural one.

"We had it transferred for our defense." Jervale's squinted eyes smiled from behind his glasses as he continued to offer his half-assed explanations. "Well, there you have it. Two Gundams in peak condition. All I need now are capable pilots."

"All you need now is half a brain!" Allenby shouted, pointing at the two mobile fighters in wide-eyed disbelief. "Could you have picked two less-conventional Gundams for us to use?! Have you got a Mermaid Gundam hanging around here?!"

"There's a Mermaid Gundam? Hm, might should have considered that..." Jervale muttered to himself below his breath, before clapping his hands together. "No time for complaining! The **** Army will be here any minute. Unless you want us all to be turned into zombie slaves of the Devil Gundam, you've got to prepare for a fight!"

Hearing that she was being counted on for this again stunned Rain completely, leaving Allenby to consider the best course of action. She didn't have much time... Or at least, she didn't think she did. Doctor Umjervale was giving very mixed signals as to how much time they had and how urgent their situation was. If the **** Army really was involved, however, Allenby couldn't take a chance. She was both a soldier and a Gundam Fighter, through-and-through: she'd deal with whatever challenge she had to and adapt to survive. Also, without Domon around, Allenby knew it was her duty to protect Rain... She wasn't a fighter, but she was a capable operator. She hated to admit it, but rather than holing her up inside this underground lair, she thought the best call was to get Rain in a mobile fighter as well.

No time to waste (maybe, probably)! Which Gundam will Allenby pick?
