Ed kills his tormentor

The moment stretched for what seemed like more than a year, an eternity almost.

When his eyes focused his discovered his hands were covered in blood, he couldn't even remember the moment when he'd stabbed Idris.

He stared at his lifeless assailant, the man who disrespected his dead mother, berated him and treated him with contempt in his own house. Idris was now unrecognisable, a meat sack covered in wounds and blood. The enormity of what Ed had done overwhelmed him and in shock he dropped the knife, the **** weapon, into his victims pool of blood.

Ed couldn't think straight, he staggered and steadied himself against the countertop leaving bloody handprints, he caught his reflection in a glass cabinet door. The blood splattered face that stared back was not one that he recognised as his own.

He needed to make a decision, phone the police and confess, call a friend or hide the body and evidence himself.
