Ed hides the body himself

Ed found a sheet and draped it over Idris's corpse, if anything then to hide himself from the accusatory stare. Ed's body trembled from the shock of what had happened as he struggled to comprehend the enormity of what he'd done.

He closed his eyes and tried to steady himself but all he could see in his imagination was a replay of his killing of Idris. He knew he should phone the police but the reality was he was afraid of what would happen, that the justice system wouldn't understand that it had been an accident, a moment of madness as he'd been taunted cruelly and unnecessarily by someone who had appeared to hate him while he had been processing his mothers ****.

He considered what to do, everything he knew was from movies and TV but he knew enough that googling how to dispose of a body would raise red flags to even the most incompetent of detectives who presumably would view his search history as part of any investigation, it might even automatically raise a red flag that would automatically send FBI agents to his door.

There was no point burying the body in the garden during the day, there were no chemicals he might use to dissolve it, if he could get it into the car then where could he go to get rid of it? He knew enough that if he tried to hide the body and it were discovered then no one would believe any attempts to explain it was an accident.

In the end he wrapped the body is some sheets and dragged it down to the basement before spending the rest of the morning cleaning up any potential evidence.

He washed in the shower, scrubbing his skin as he replayed the trauma in his mind, there was no way to get himself clean enough to wash the sin away. Eventually he returned to his room and finished getting ready to go and identify his mom's body.
