What's next?
Eternicus reaches Atlantis and starts to affect Queen Mera
Gracefully, Eternicus held its position above the clouds. He felt the resonance of the **** clearly. His call had been answered. It would take some time for the energies to reach this world. If his children were no longer alive, he wished to have a focus nearby. Only in this way he was able to support these weak copies with his own strength to guarantee the stability of the universe. The elders had not yet understood everything, but their energy sources were still interesting in a way. Maybe he would have a talk with the elders later. He was curious why the Elders had created this power.
Slowly he turned around in the air and tensed his body. With slow, elegant flaps of his wings he glided over the clouds until he saw the ocean in front of him. Here and there he was able to see other human flying machines. Some looked threatening, others less so. They were all different in size, shape and speed. But for the moment he had played enough with the humans and caused them enough suffering. Henceforth he would avoid them for the time being.
Hours later he had finally reached his goal. Circling over the ocean he looked at the waves below him. Directly below him lay the mighty city of Atlantis and apparently the inhabitants of the city had adapted to their new habitat. With a discontented growl he let himself fall and shortly afterwards the huge body fell into the floods. Even though he was a creature of the land and the air, he didn't mind being under water. He was slower here and didn't feel very comfortable, but it was unavoidable. The magical energies of the city were an unmistakable beacon for him. However, he realized that in his present form he would hardly be able to walk in this city. Slowly he let himself sink to the ground. He knew that Atlantis knew he was approaching. As he could perceive the power of the city, Atlantis was certainly able to feel his presence.
Palace of the Royal Family of Atlantis
King Arthur sat on the throne and looked at his wife Mera. The powerful queen of Atlantis was worried, he could see that clearly. Whatever could upset Mera here at home deserved his full attention. In his right hand rested the trident, symbol of the rulers of Atlantis and the most powerful weapon of the seven seas. In the wide chambers the guards were posted everywhere and Aqualad led the royal guard. He should not have to fear anything in such a situation, and yet he could not defend himself against an oppressive feeling. Something powerful was approaching. A kind of power that could not be described in words.
Finally, the door of the chamber opened, and his guards swam slowly into the room. In its midst was a man who did not really fit in to the period. On his body you could see a magnificent full plate armor that seemed to be made entirely of gold. This armor was of a quality that even the smiths of Atlantis could not have forged. Seven different gems were worked into the breastplate and were artfully arranged around a snow-white crystal that rested directly in the center of the armor. But more impressive than his armor was the face of this man. It was of a supernatural beauty. He was the embodiment of power. Everything about him appeared flawless and perfect. The man in front of him was about 6 feet tall and his stature reminded him of Superman. The same muscular upper body and despite the armor, you could clearly see that this man was in great shape. But the eyes of the man betrayed his different origins. The pupils shone in a perfect gold and seemed to glow from the inside out. The fact that he did not sink to the ground despite the armor seemed to indicate **** strength or supernatural power. Now that he was in the room he let this power fade and slowly sank to the ground. The guards slid aside and curiously watched the stranger. Apparently, the water did not seem to bother this man much, even though it did not seem to affect him. Mera looked at him and then smiled. She too seemed to notice that this man was something special and seemed interested in making him feel comfortable. She just closed her eyes briefly and pushed the water in the hall away. Within seconds a sphere of air had formed in which only the king, herself and Aqualad stood. The rest of the guards were still outside the dome and held their position while they nervously handled their weapons.
"Welcome to Atlantis," Mera smiled and nodded at the stranger who thankfully turned in her direction and nodded.
"Thank you." Eternicus smiled and looked around. The palace was an adornment to the race, far ahead of anything he had ever seen on this world. But it wasn't just advanced technology, it was also the combination of magic and technology that was especially strong in this place.
"I am Kal'Duhan. I am the captain of the royal guard. Would you be so kind and tell us your name and what brings you to Atlantis?" Aqualad asked politely but firmly as he stepped between the royal couple and the strangers.
Eternicus now took a closer look at the mortal beings. It had been ages since he had had any contact with beings like them, and yet he could imagine why some of his children had had a certain fascination for these bipeds. The young mortal before him seemed to be sure of his power. The king was also powerful and yet the most powerful person in the room was not one of the two, but the redheaded woman at his side. By human standards she was very beautiful and on top of that she radiated a tremendous power. The magical abilities of this woman exceeded those of all persons present.
Then his gaze wandered again to the person in front of him. His gaze rested for some time on the young man before he answered.
"I request an audience with the king of Atlantis. My name is Eternicus!"
No sooner had his name left his lips than Mera raised her brows. He could read it clearly in her face, that she didn't know what to do with the name, but that she understood the powerful meaning behind the name. In the faces of the men present he could not recognize any such realization.
"Your name is not known to me, Eternicus. Who exactly are you?" Arthur asked proudly and looked at his face very proudly.
Eternicus looked amused at the king and then smiled. He wasn't here to start a fight and yet the king felt that he was not satisfied with his answer.
"I'm sorry, but it's not my problem if you don't know the history of your people." Did Eternicus smile. Though he sought no quarrel, he was not willing to submit to this man. But before Arthur or Kal'Duhan could say anything back, the queen had already risen and smiled at him. In her eyes a certain fire was burning that Eternicus already knew. Magically active beings always reacted especially intense to his kind. With her this was no exception.
"Forgive Eternicus. Much of the history of our people has been lost. You seem to know our people, and as Queen of Atlantis, I apologize for receiving a guest in such a harsh manner! If you would allow me to show you to the library, perhaps you could refresh our knowledge. I would be honored!"
