Follow Emmaline or the rest of the group?

Skye and Liv push deeper into the dungeon

Chapter 11 by NeedAMedic NeedAMedic

Completely unaware of Emmaline's struggle, the other two Bravos continued to make their way forward into the looming darkness. The walls seemed to fall away from them, and it wasn't long before the light that emanated from torch and spell could no longer find the sides of the tunnel. The space seemed cavernous, continuing outward apparently without end, and the echoes of their footsteps only contributed to the sense of scale.

Liv squinted out into the darkness, though soon realize that it was just as empty and indistinguishable as it seemed. It was as though it might have gone on forever in each direction, never ending.

Suddenly there was a presence behind Livshe only recognized it for a moment before she felt a pair of hands grabbing her butt, and a soft, buxom chest pressing into her back. She whirled around to see Skye staring up at her, face flushed as she stammered out "S-sorry."

"You should watch where you're going down here. No point taking unnecessary risks," Liv said, but Skye didn't seem to be listening. No, the other woman wasn't even looking at Liv, but rather past her shoulder, just staring at something in the distance. Liv could see it's faint blue light reflecting in Skye's eyes, and tinging her skin with it's soft glow.

Liv turned and nearly stumbled back at what had appeared behind her. It was a massive, glowing crystal ball, socketed into the top of a square pedestal made out of some kind of deep, black stone. The face of it was faceted with countless surfaces, at a seemingly impossible precision for it's size. The stone must have been worth a fortune!

As she peered closer, Liv began to make out something inside the crystal. It was as though a dense fog was twisting around inside of it, blowing on some sort of crystalline breeze as it wove and wound in on itself, circling around... something?

Liv's mind felts as if it was humming, a soft, pleasant vibration that precluded the need for thought. Her hand stretched out as she leaned closer and closer until her fingers brushed the surface of the sphere. Then, with a sudden pop, everything vanished.

Skye blinked, her trance broken as her friend disappeared before her very eyes in a flash of light. "Liv!" she yelled, only for her voice to echoed off into the endless darkness around her. As she turned around, Skye realized that the doorway they had entered from was nowhere to be seen. It was just her, the crystal, and darkness.

"Oh... I'm sorry, Emmaline. Please figure out how to catch up," Skye said. Then after one last moment of hesitation, she placed her hand on the crystal, and felt the world go white.
