Chapter 10 by Gatsha Gatsha

Where to next?

Gaia Daughter is going somewhere else...

The backwards track was familiar up until the transformation from eel to crocodile... at that point, she could see her car had separated from the rest, riding upon a new track that seemed to be made up of a frog's tongue as the other cars went back to the start in a headless swordfish. Now, she at last seemed to be making some progress. The tongue was shooting back at a rapid pace to where it had come from, which seemed to be the end of the park away from the shore.

"For the VIP who made me FEEL so GOOD, a SPEcial TREAT! I'm going to MAKE you a SPEcial SNACK, VIP! Yum yum, geh geh geeeh!!"

Gaia Daughter's sense of danger immediately kicked in. She'd exchanged enough mid-battle banter with enough humanoid monsters to tell where this strange offer was going. As the tongue continued to roll back in, she prepared to call upon Mother Nature's strength...

Ultimately, however, she found herself frozen in place by what she found at the other end of the park, where the tongue slowed its retraction. At the end of the tongue, in an area that had been hidden from her view by the canopies from the air, she finally saw the tongue's owner...

Staged in an area of the park that looked like a control room was the enormous, still humanoid head of her opponent, gagged by clear bridgework that held her mouth open so that her many rows of horrifying teeth could be seen while only allowing enough space for her frog-like tongue to escape. There were so many bizarre details to taken in that the ordinarily divine Gaia Daughter was left blank. Fishfreak was drooling, but far from hungry, her "expression," as it was, seemed blank. The enormous yellow orbs that formed her eyes in the gelatin of her head didn't focus on her hated foe, but simply rolled backward, flickering. The sound of heavy breathing could be heard from the tunnel, repeatedly casting a fog against the clear shoring that held her mouth open.

None of that was even the strangest detail.

Fishfreak had never had a normal body. It had been made of combined sea life, fused by her power into her odd, well-developed blue humanoid form. Now, however... There was a clear transition line at the back of her neck where her humanoid form transitioned into the rubber Gaia Daughter had previously taken to be an inflatable barge... Or maybe it was? As the heroine got a better look at the contours of the raft, she became more clearly aware of it.

"I see you two finally meet. Yes, Fishfreak is serving as our water park."

Jervale's voice came from behind her, but, strapped into the car as she was, the stunned heroine couldn't turn to meet it. "Hahahaha! Oh, the demons of the tower seemed to enjoy this park, but for me, this was the greatest treat of all. I know you two are enemies, but still... the stunned look as you see what your acquaintance has been turned into...! Mmm, it turns out that's the good stuff, after all! Kehehehe!!"

"Jervale. You turned out to be a truly foul demon," Gaia Daughter remarked, her eyes beginning to glow. "The daughter of the sea has sinned, but this perversion is not a punishment which fits her crime. Mother Earth demands justice for what you have done to one of her creatures. Now would be a fine time to repent."

"Oh, nah, I never bother with that," the demon waved her off dismissively. "Instead, since I couldn't really think of a good way to change you, I've decided to turn you into fish food for your foe. She's been doing a good job for us, so she deserves a little snack, I think!"

"Guo ho HO! Give FishFREAK SNACKies, num NUM NUUUM!!" The voice shouted over the loudspeaker, Gaia Daughter realized, must not belong to the actual Fishfreak, as her mouth didn't move when she spoke. More of the demon's trickery... How was such magic possible?

"It matters not. With Mother Earth's protection, I will show you the scale of your sins, Jervale."

"Huh?" Jervale muttered, not having been paying attention. Already, he'd started to get a little bored with his handiwork. "Wait, do you do something?"

What's next?
