Another two weeks later.

The following two weeks were incredibly interesting and exciting for John. Yumi had introduced herself to him on Wednesday afternoon, by tapping his shoulder while he stood at his locker.

“Hey. You’re John right?” She said.

“Yes! It’s Yumi isn’t it?” John shook the hand she had extended to greet him.

“That’s me.” She beamed. “You’re in Mrs. Chanelle’s Math class, aren’t you?”

“Yeah.”

“Actually, I was just wondering whether you did the homework from yesterday…”

“Oh… yeah I did…” John answered hesitantly.

“Oh I did it too! I wasn’t going to ask to copy or anything.” Yumi flustered, sensing John's discomfort. “There was just one question I wasn’t sure about. I know that you’re really smart and I just wanted to ask you about it.”

“Oh!” John was relieved, “Yeah sure which one was it?”

Yumi proceeded to show him her homework that was filled out with completely correct equations. John understood immediately that she was probably just trying to talk to him and obliged her questions anyway.

Yumi Kim spread her legs in the bathtub. She had run a nice and hot bath, lit some candles and put in some headphones to relax. “Oh, no not really. Why?” John asked, playing dumb.

“I just… I don’t know… I guess I just... thought you were looking good I guess.”

“Ooooh, you think I look good!” John laughed, Yumi slapped his arm playfully. “No I guess I just finally went through puberty or something.” They giggled together.

“Something to add Mr. Donger and Ms. Kim?” Mrs. Locke, their stuck up old bag of a teacher interrupted.

“No, Miss.” John answered for the both of them, they smirked, glancing at each other as they quietened down.

It was Friday afternoon and Yumi approached John at his locker. “Hey John!”

“Yumi!” John spun around.

They embraced in a hug, John noticed how Yumi had increasingly become touchy-feely with him.

“I’ve missed you today.”

“Yeah I missed you too. I never thought I would actually be disappointed not to have Math or Physics class.”

Yumi laughed brightly. “Yeah me too! Who would have thought? Actually I have some questions about some Physics stuff, I am so not ready for the test next week.”

“I'm sure you'll do great." She blushed when he smiled at her, "What did you want to ask though?”

“Oh, yeah it's this thing...” Yumi went to pull a book from her bag but checked her watch and paused, “Actually, it might take a while and I kind of have to run. Would you maybe want to come to my house and help me study tomorrow?”

John tried not to sound over eager, “Oh okay yeah. Sounds like fun.” He smiled.

“Awesome. I’ll text you my address.” She glowed, before hurrying away.
