Sudden Impact
To Evelyn's surprise, the red sedan comes around the corner, driving at a much slower pace than she'd expected. She figured the Cherryville Sheriff's Department must have called off the pursuit, giving the suspect a false sense of success. With a hill to the left and a forest on the right, the suspect was out of options. Then again, that also meant he had nothing left to lose.
The driver continues to drive forward, veering to the right. Deputies move out of the way as the sedan rounds the blockade. Evelyn turns around only to see the sedan crash into her cruiser. With shotgun in hand, Evelyn moves to be level with the driver as the two other deputies move towards the driver's seat.
"Come out with your hands up." Barnes says over his bullhorn.
Evelyn put her bead sight on the driver, who's slumped over. The collision looked minor, so she figured he was at most dazed. That and considering his proven propensity for resisting arrest meant she still considered him highly dangerous. Barnes repeats his demand as the suspect sits upright. That's when another deputy throws the door open. Evelyn lowered her weapon as to not muzzle her teammates as they throw him on the ground.
A few seconds later, and the deputies lift the suspect up, before walking him. One of them keyed his radio. "This is Deputy Phelps. Suspect in custody. Requesting an ambulance."
"How bad is he?" Barnes asks.
"Just some cuts I think." Phelps replied.
Barnes proceeded to grab a first aid kit and treated the suspect as best as he could. As he did so, Evelyn took a deep breath and surveyed the damage to her vehicle. The mangled front told her that this might be her second right off in under a month, but she'd take that over any damage to her fellow deputies. As things calmed down, she made sure to take notes on her phone for the report later.

It was well into the afternoon by the time Evelyn got back to the station. There, she headed to her desk, only to find Sheriff Brodsky waiting for her. The balding, heavyset fifty-pushing-sixty man glared at Evelyn as she said "Sheriff?"
"What happened out there?"
"With all due respect, I think it's best I put everything into a report."
"Well, after today's incident, I'm putting you on administrative leave for the weekend. I'll need a report as soon as possible."
"I'll get to it as soon as possible. Thank you Sir."
"See you Evelyn."
"See you."
Evelyn rushed out of the station, wishing that just for once, Brodsky could give her some credit. Sure, what happened wasn't ideal, but she knew it could've been a lot worse. Then again, Brodsky was a bean counter, and nothing more. She was hoping that the next election would lead to him leaving his position. That or a massive heart attack.
Upon getting into her own car, Evelyn texted Spencer.
'hey Im finally off work'
'do you want me to come around?'
'Absolutely. Two pizzas would b e great to ;)'
'Ill order them on the way'
'thanks see u then'
