Roll a die

"Oh, I know, seeing as we're roleplaying buddies, too, why don't we roll for it?" Kyle declares.

"Roll for it? How would that even work?" Maggie asks dismissively.

"Oh, easy, 1-2 I go on the first date with her, 3-4 and you go first, 5-6 we double date, er, triple date, wait, what's the word for all three of us going out at the same time? A mé·nage à trois?"

Tanya and Maggie both blush at the word. "No dummy," Tanya snaps slightly reverting to her previous mocking and bullying self, "that's if the three of us are sharing a sexual relationship and we're totes not doing that." She squeezes their hands again as the dream pushes itself forward in her brain but she fights back. "I just want to date the two of you and be with you. Do fun couple stuff or..." she thinks of a different word "throuple stuff."

Maggie wants to say she'd prefer if they dated her separately but didn't want to hurt Kyle's feelings. "Well," she shrugs, "I'm fine with the roll of the die. Five or six and the first date is the three of us going to the amusement park or to the movies. Something like that."

Kyle eagerly pulls a bag of dice out of his pocket. He fishes out a six-sided one. "A good Dungeon Master always has a quiver of dice in case a game breaks out."

Tanya can't help but roll her eyes "you're such a dork."

He brushes it off and hands her the die. "You should roll. It's your fate."

Tanya holds her hand out. "Okay, but each of you needs to blow on it for good luck." Smiling, the two friends lean in at the same time. Tanya sees their faces so close together, lips puckered to blow, and realizes she doesn't want to choose between them. After they blow she closes her fist, shakes, and wishes for a five or six.
