Now that he had regained composure. John took a moment to consider his third change. He asked Jane a few questions about changing other people before deciding.

“I want Mrs. Chanelle to be attracted to me.” His words blinked red on screen followed by the word ‘error’.

“No sorry John, nice try. Large scale mental changes like that are too broad for the program to accept. But if you’re clever there are some work arounds.”

“How about I want her to become aroused when she sees me?” John typed.

“Very good. However that would be a change you could implement later when she has a base level of attraction towards you. As of right now, she is almost repulsed by you.”

John read the words over. Whatever sliver of self-esteem he had previously had was now completely lost. He thought about what to do. “Alright, how about I want Mrs. Chanelle to feel compassionate towards me.” His words blinked green before disappearing.

John immediately tried his luck with his change. His hand shot up begging a question.

“Mr. Donger?” Mrs. Chanelle asked, an eyebrow raised.

“May I go to the bathroom please?” He tried, knowing that she had refused countless other students the privilege of a bathroom break, or anything similar that would disrupt her classroom.

Her glance softened. “Make it quick.”

John couldn’t believe his luck and raced for the door, a few students glancing at his achievement in awe.
