Jason makes a move

“...and that is why the writer made the door red. Alright, class dismissed!”

With the end of literature class on Thursday, also came the end of the school day for Jade and company.

“Wow, Jade! Literature is so interesting, isn’t it?” Mike exclaimed to her once class ended. “Mr. Paul really makes every lesson interesting. That part about the red door blew my mind, it was so cool! Right, Jade?”

“Umm, yeah sweetie!” Jade replied, a fraction too late to sound totally believable. Fortunately, Mike was too busy gushing over the class to notice her late reply.

Jade mentally sighed to herself. It wasn’t that literature was boring or not interesting, but she did feel that, sometimes, literature class devolved into grabbing at straws. Trying to find meaning where the author didn’t intend it.

To Mike, the red door was brilliant, but to Jade, it sounded like complete bogus. She wasn’t going to tell him that though, as she feared it might hurt his feelings.

“Hey, Jade!”

Uh oh. That was Jason calling out to her. Was he finally making a move, then?

“I have something for you related to the project. Could you come with me to my van to get it?”

That sounded suspicious as fuck.

Yet, she couldn’t refuse.
