The silver coin in his hand, Jed spoke out his thought, in hopes it would change things enough. While he did so, Paula was still looking at him while splayed out on the couch, and if she cared that he was trying this, she didn’t seem to care. “I wish Paula had done her chores this morning instead of being lazy.” Sure enough, just like the last time, the coin suddenly glowed bright enough to blind everyone, and when things came back into focus, Paula was definitely different.

The most obvious thing was that her physique was back to how it had been before, if not a little bustier. But instead of wearing her usual casual clothes, she was wearing a maid outfit that fit her perfectly. She wasn’t laying on the couch anymore, but standing at attention just in front of Jed, and a quick look around the apartment showed that it was absolutely spotless, cleaner than Jed had seen it in years. “Well,” Jed said, realizing what his words had done. “You’re not a slob anymore. Are you okay, Paula?”

“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t change me without asking first,” she spat out right away, but immediately the look of anger disappeared and she bowed her head. “My apologies, Master, that was rude of me. Perhaps, give me more warning in the future? If you want to?” Then, realizing Jed was looking around at how clean everything was, Paula gave him a pleasant smile. “Ah, yes. Based on my new memories of today, when I started doing the dishes, it made me think about having to do the chores more often, like I was your maid. Then, as you can see, I became a real maid, and couldn’t help but finish up cleaning the rest of your apartment.” That raised a red flag for Jed.
