Try the rooftop path.

You decide to go with option four and try to eliminate the rooftop sniper. Quickly you unpack your crossbow pistol and load it. Rising up you look across the street and see the gunman has lit up a cigarette and is currently offguard. Using the low wall to steady your aim you sight carefully, lining the crosshairs of the crossbows scope for a clean headshot. At the last instant the guard spots you and his mouth opens in surprise as he sees the weapon aimed unwaveringly at him. You squeeze the trigger and the bolt hits him before he can react. The steel shaft slices through his eyeball and straight into his brain, killing him instantly.

You reload with a grapple bolt and fire it at the wall of the roof access. The thin wire snakes across the gap between the two buildings and you hear a dull thunk as the bolt embeds itself in the concrete. Attaching the wire to a bracket holding an aerial, you ensure the line is taut. The crossbow folds up to provide a handhold and slots onto the thin wire. With a quick check on the street to satisfy yourself that none of the guards below are looking up, you launch yourself off the buildings edge and slide safely across to the roof of the brothel.

The man you killed lies on his back staring sightlessly up with his one remaining eye. The lit cigarette is still clutched in his lifeless fingers.

"Someone should have warned you that smoking was bad for your health." You tell the corpse with a smile.

You stow the crossbow back in it's pack and pull out the pistol from it's boot sheath. It's a slimline weapon firing high velocity flechettes by compressed gas and is virtually silent. Going through the dead man's pockets you find a swipecard and use it to open the roof door. A short flight of stairs leads down into the building with another door at the foot of the stairs.

Using an electronics scanner from your hackers toolkit you check the stairwell for infrared beams, motion detectors or other surveillance devices. Satisfied you descend to the door and put your ear against it. All is silent so you ease the door open slightly and look through the narrow crack. Behind is a corridor with a number of doors and an entrance to an elevator. You sweep again with your scanner and the corridor shows no sign of monitoring devices. Just as you're about to step out you here the sound of the elevator coming to this floor.

Two women dressed in stockings and basques step out and stroll towards your hiding place, chatting as they walk. From their conversation you gather that one of them only recently started working here.

"Just got told I'm to report to the boss as soon as I've freshened up." You hear the new starter say.

"That figures." Her friend laughs, "Mr. Big likes to personally test drive all the new girls. You'd better take plenty of lube with you Ramona. I know from my time that the bosses equipment can leave you bowlegged for a week."

Ramona laughs and bids her fellow whore a goodnight. The more experienced prostitute goes into a room off the corridor and Ramona carries on towards you. Stopping a few feet away from you she turns to a door and pulls out a swipecard that was tucked into the top of her basque.

You realize that this could be a golden opportunity. If you take Ramona's place you could get close to your target.

The game freezes and an option screen appears.

1. Stay hidden till Ramona enters the room.

2. Kill Ramona now.

3. Try to subdue Ramona.

4. Go back up the stairs to the roof.
