Chapter 72

What happens tomorrow?
Double-date with newcomers
“Had a good night?” Paige asks.
It was a bit after breakfast, and you awkwardly bump into her after coming from the gym and doing morning stretches.
“It was good,” You say, resisting an urge to smile and bring up the fact that Paige was getting off to you eating out Jenna.
“First night and you already got busy with Jenna, huh?” Paige raises her eyebrows and crossed her arm, trying her best to pretend she didn't care.
“I don’t see the problem? Jenna had a bit of a sleeping problem, and I was helping her with that. I seem to recall doing the same to you,” You say pulling yourself closer to Paige. “What’s the matter? Do you need help sleeping too?”
Paige flusters and recoils from you, she fidgets back and forth and looks away and then says, “You’re really something…”
Your hand come behind her back and pull her towards you, “Paige, I’m sick of playing these games with you. Let’s just drop this and get to the makeup part of it, shall we? I’m fucking tired of tiptoeing around you constantly.”
“Y-you… what?” Her face reddens. “I-I-I can’t believe you’re saying this right now.”
“Maybe I can bring Jenna here, and she’ll help out too,” You whisper in her ear and then smile.
A text message note hums out in your pocket, and you resist the urge to ignore it or throw it against the wall. Sighing, you let Paige go, and she runs her hands through her hair and coughs.
“I HAVE A TEXT!” You shout and skim the message. Skimming it you realized it was a date with a new person.
The other curious islanders all gather around you. Tom and Mike both look particularly frustrated at the fact that yet another text message date was directed to you. Paige pretends to not look interested, but you can see yet more pangs of jealousy rack her. Mona is busy eating her coconut yogurt, her late breakfast, and doesn’t seem interested, and Jenna was yawning and still stretching out, her hair ruffled and eyes dark.
“Matt, I look forward to meeting you. I’ve spent the past week just fantasizing about this date and falling in love with you on TV. Please get dressed and come soon... Evelyn,” You read.
At the name, Evelyn, the first thing you notice is Paige’s eyes light up. Recognition comes over them and then denial and then a hint of anger. You start to leave to get dressed for your date when a text message note rings out from Paige’s phone. She picks it up and reads it and shouts, “I HAVE A TEXT.”
“Paige, you deserve a man who can treat you right,” Paige reads, “Come get dressed, and I could show you a real good time. Brad.”
“Oh my god Paige, that’s so exciting,” Liz says patting Paige on the back. “Have fun, girl!”
“Wow, what will I wear? Something really sexy?” Paige says and then eyes you for a second and then back to Liz and Mona, who both give her advice for her date.
Jealousy courses through you. This is how Paige and Jenna must have felt whenever you went on a date with someone else. Oh well. It didn't matter since you didn't feel at all worried this Brad fellow would sway Paige's interests.
After getting dressed, you take out your phone and try to see if the profiles were updated for the new people. Two new blacked-out profiles dissolve away and reveal themselves.

Evelyn Carter-Green (18)
Bradley Young (26)
Evelyn was striking. Not only was she beautiful, but she reminded you so much of Paige. The resemblance was definitely there, and then you remember something way back from Paige’s background video. Paige’s dad got divorced with Paige's mother and talked about a girl named Eve on a phone call to Paige. It couldn’t be? Was this her younger half-sister?
Bradley was a clean-cut dirty-blonde hair hunk. You recognized him and his name, he was a lower round draft pick for the Texans (NFL Football) and a professional second-string quarterback. He wasn’t a huge celebrity, maybe C-list, and would probably be a career second-stringer, but that was a pretty massive get for the show.
When Paige walked out of the dressing closet, she wore a simple white blouse and a yellow skirt with her red hair tied up in a bun. She was radiant, and you are reminded of your first date with her. The outfit was a bit more seasonal, but her dark eyes and full lips pouted with the color of cherries, and she looks like she belongs on a runway. Somehow though, you weren’t as intimidated by her as you were back then. You met her on the top of the stair and offer her your arm.
“You look great,” You murmur, walking her down the stair. “When you and I get back, I’m going to take you to my bed and strip those pieces of clothing off you while Brad watches.”
“You’re so full of yourself, Matt. What makes you think I won’t fall head over heels for him?” Paige asks, though her face was red and her voice shakey, and her breathing got rampant as you proposed that idea to her.
“Because during the entire date you have with him, you’ll be thinking about me and my date,” You explain.
Paige scoffs at that, “You think I can only think about you, is that it? I’m pretty much over you, Matt.”
“I love you too, Paige,” You say, and she looks away embarrassed and unable to talk.
The two of you were at the base of the stair, and the rest of the islanders all say their farewell, and you head out. Outside of the villa, you get in the car and on the drive there Paige speaks up first, sitting across from you in the shuttle van.
“Who do you think this Evelyn is?” Paige asks, her fingers stroking her chins and her eyes out the window.
“Beats me. Your guess is as good as mine,” You say.
“It can’t be…” Paige murmurs quietly to herself. “I swear if she fucking followed me here.”
“She?”
“My half-sister, Eve. She’s constantly hanging over me or following me. Knowing how fucked up things are in this island, it probably is her.”
“You don’t sound like you like her,” You observe.
“I mean, she’s my half-sister and family, but… I wish she would leave me alone,” Paige says, and the two of you arrive at your destination. You were by a restaurant by the docks, and two tables, a couple of meters away, were set up on the outside patio of the restaurant with two people sitting on each one. One was a tall, attractive Adonis of a man with blonde crew-cut hair and a well-trimmed beard. The other was a young statue-esque redhead in glasses with cream color skin spotted with freckles and long legs and sensual round curves.
Evelyn, the redhead, sat on the left, and she waves at you with a wide ear-to-ear smile. Paige’s jaw drops in reaction to seeing Evelyn.
