Max, A disillusioned teenager

For all the 19 years since you’ve been born, You always had a disappointed face. Nothing was ever as hyped up as it to be. Simply said you were disillusioned with Earth as a whole. But you didn’t turn into mopey emo, you did your best to make everything enjoyable to you. Martial arts, Basketball, or even your band, you did everything that you thought would make you happy. You had a string of girlfriends whose names you can’t even remember. But nope, nothing filled you as a person. There was always something you were aching for, Something you knew you can’t have on this Earth.

_'Well, no use contemplating my life story,' you thought as you packed a portable solar charger to your backpack. 'I am never leaving for a hike again without one of these, Not after the last time,' _you thought as memories of your last hiking trip flashed.

You packed the remaining of your stuff to your backpack. You have to wake up pretty early tomorrow to start the hike. With tired eyes you put your bag near the bed and went to bed. 'what a new hobby to pick up!!, Maybe I should try kayaking next' you thought sarcastically as sleep hit you.

You felt as though you were going through a tunnel at high speed. None of your senses were working but you could still feel the structure that you are passing through. A Sharp pain hits you in the chest like someone is trying to shove a ball straight through your ribs. The sensation is getting too much to handle. If this is a dream, you have to wake up. Mustering all your strength you opened your eyes to the most breathtaking scenery you had ever seen. A great lake at the foot of a humongous mountain with its peak hidden in the clouds and valley of such luscious green sloping towards the lake. 'I must be dreaming cause there could not be such a beautiful sight on earth' you thought as you reluctantly closed your eyes to confirm. But nope. you are not in a dream, you are really lying in a valley in your pajamas. There were some of your stuff lying around in the grass. You saw your hiking backpack, mobile phone, and storybooks. “Alright who pulled this prank!! “ you said out loud hoping this is a somehow explainable prank.

But nobody came out saying _“Chillax bro, it’s just a prank”. _With a little hesitation, you pulled yourself from the ground and looked around. Everything seemed pretty ordinary except for the huge mountain. Your whole body felt different, a bit more energetic and your chest was starting to hurt a little. “Hmm....No signal!!” you looked at your phone with a frown. “How deep in a jungle am I and how did I get here?” you said out loud in frustration. Suddenly your attention was drawn to the sound coming out from the nearby forest. A huge creature like rhinoceros with black scales and three horns came charging out of the trees. You were stunned for a moment at the appearance of the creature but soon began running towards your bag as you realized it is charging at you.

'Fuck I am not on earth, am I?' you thought as you quickly stuffed your phone in the bag and ran towards the lake. The creature with a roar quickly started the pursuit. You were hoping to run into the lake but soon realized that the creature is outpacing you at an alarming rate. 'This is hopeless!! I am not gonna make it into the lake in time. There is nowhere to hide or climb' you screamed internally 'only way to escape is to avoid it’s first charge and plan from there'

By some newfound courage, you turned around and faced the oncoming bulldozer. and as soon as you turned the first charge came. You avoided the left horn by mere inches. You never knew you had these superhuman reflexes. The creature slowed down and turned around now standing between you and the river. _'There is no way to get to the river now,' _you thought. 'I have to either run between it and it’s killer horns or run to the forest, either way, there is not much of a chance of getting out alive' you resigned.
