Manage my funds

I seat with Mary, which happens to be the person in charge of the account my dad opened for me.

Mary: HAHAHA well, seems we will be working in more than just your investment account. Ok, let me read this... According to the account that your dad set for you, the only way you can access those funds is coming to the bank. I wonder why?

John: I know, that way I would have to think twice if I REALLY need to use that money for what I want. I less likely that I will blow $1000 in bullshit if the only way to do so is coming to the bank, requesting a transfer and then going to get what I wanted.

Mary: I guess it makes sense. Mind if I ask you a question?

John: Go ahead.

Mary: It seems like you have money, I mean this account is linked to a big business and it just hit me that you have the same last name as the owner and CEO, how come your personal finances are so low, and according to your address... well you could do so much better if you asked your dad for money.

John: Yes, that would be my family business, and that would be my dad. And you said "if I ask my dad for money" that money isn't mine, is my dad's money, I just wanted to go away for a bit, experience the world and try to make something for me with my own effort.

Mary: Well, it makes sense. But if you ask me, I would max out my cards and live large! Anyway, what do you want to do?
