Hiding and planning

You rub your hands together vigorously to warm them up. For the past week, you've been holed up in a luxury ski lodge in Colorado. It's basically a massive state of the art cabin with all the privacy you need. Fortunately, with your resources, you were able to pay for the lodge with ease and there were no questions asked. Of course, you had taken the necessary precautions by withdrawing the money at a bank in New York from Olivia's account before you disappeared.

The ski lodge also comes equipped with satellite tv and an excellent internet connection, allowing you to stay in touch with the world remotely and continue your research into the man known as "Alpha" while you plot your next move. Just thinking of that encounter with the man who had superman-like abilities gives you the chills, and you certainly want to avoid having to confront him directly.

You check the news and there are ongoing reports about your sudden disappearance as the mayor of the largest city in the US. Everyone seems confused and there are tons of theories out there. Some say you're running from the law, that the government **** you, or that you had flown off into outer space. If only they knew the truth.

Seeing nothing new, you return to your research. After a week, you've found a lot more information and you're even started out of those walls in tv shows where they pin pictures and connect them with strings. So far, you've identified at least 3 possible associates of Alpha, including The Water Man. Next, there's a person the forums referred to as Speed, sort of a Flash ripoff, and there are multiple pictures online of a blurry figure even when captured on the best cameras. Finally, there seems to be a female version of Alpha who has been sighted recently in the past few years. Apart from being able to fly and having super strength, the woman's description varies according to different accounts. Some say she's 7 feet tall with short red hair, others claim she's just over 5 feet with long blonde hair that's so tough she whipped a guy to **** by accident once when she turned her head. She's known as Enigma.

After another long day of searching online forums and discussion boards, you yawn and get up from your desk, stretching your limbs. You think about going outside for a walk and some fresh air, but you're too paranoid to venture out. Alpha could be looking for you, although you're not sure how he would have found you. You had hidden your tracks pretty well and there was no way to track your teleportation ability. Tired, you head upstairs to the bedroom.
