Party!

Barb heads back toward the party. She slips into the bathroom for a quick pee. As she heads out she checks herself out in the mirror.

Her reflection is strange. She considers brightening up her goth appearance. She feels weird. It takes her a moment to realize she’s happy.

Moments later she enters the party. The music is loud and driving. She heads over to the bar and sits next to a gorgeous blonde.

“What’s with the goth princess look?”

“My sister died a couple years back. I think it was just a phase I was going through.”

“I’m so sorry to hear about your sister. I so want to help with your makeover. I’m Catherine, by the way.”

Barb grins. “Nice to meet you, Catherine.”

“I’m so glad you came to the party. You’re the coolest girl I’ve met so far. I see us being great friends.”

“Yeah. You’re so much more laid back then my escape obsessed roommate.”

“Escape? Why the fuck would you want to escape? Anyone who graduates from here will have wealth and power beyond imagination.”

“Fuck. I didn’t think of it like that. You’re right. I can’t wait to start classes.”

“You were already selected?”

“Yes, Professor Anip.”

“She’s supposed to be quite a taskmaster. Good luck. Look over there.”

You look and see a hot guy.

“I’m so fucking him tonight.”

Barb laughs. “Good luck!”

Cartherine flips her hair. “Who needs luck?”

Barb orders another drink. The ratio of girls to guys isn’t in her favor. As Catherine flirts with the tall, dark, guy, Barb ponders if she should try to hook up…
