Sneak a peek at the specimens

You wait patiently for several minutes, but you hear no sign that Dr. Philovibe or his amazonian assistant are anywhere nearby. As you feel boredom begin to set in you decide that you'd rather explore a little bit than sit and stare at an empty room.

You hop up off the examining table with a glance at the one-way window. You peek out of the door of the experiment room and into Dr. Philovibe's lab. It's quiet other than some mechanical whirring sounds and the occasional drip of liquid.

The red door catches your eye and you slink across the lab to examine the padlock. It's very heavy duty, but to your surprise it snaps open when you tug on it. The old kook forgot to lock the door properly! You grin and open the door and find yourself in a dim and slightly musty hallway with a bare concrete floor.

There are three heavy iron doors along the right side of the hallway and at the dead end of the hall you can just make out some sort of small hatch set into the wall. Each of the doors along the hall has a small printed placard and you examine each as you walk down the hall.

The placard on the first door reads: "Test Subject 16 - Growth Serum. 3x physical growth. Lowered intelligence. Increased aggression."

You continue on to the second door and read the placard there. "Test Subject 30 - Unidentified alien. Unknown intelligence and feeding habits. Psychoactive mucus. Very dangerous."

Doesn't sound too safe!

You step up to the third door and read the placard. "Test Subject 69 - She-warrior of Sapphos. Highly intelligent and advanced warrior woman. Do not open door without activating sedative fog. Highly dangerous."

Hmmmm.

Finally, you reach the dead end in the dim hallway and stop at the hatch. It appears to be the covering for some form of chute. Printed on the hatch are the words "eeding chute" it looks like it's a feeding chute but the first letter is covered in green gunk. There is a strange earthy aroma coming from the chute that reminds you a little bit of a freshly-mowed lawn.

You consider whether or not you dare to enter any of the rooms or try climbing down the chute. It all seems pretty scary. Maybe you should just leave.
