Who was on the phone? Can Daniel trust Robert? And can a deal be struck with the Harringtons?
Shared History
As luck would have it, the Norsteins were already in Azure Rocks for other business. It wasn’t really luck though. Despite being a national company that regularly did business outside Azure Rocks, this little town was where they liked to set down for a few days even when they had no business to do. It was for that very reason that they had a standing reservation at the Ravers Palace Hotel, in one of the upper Penthouse apartment suites only a couple levels below the Presidential floor. So, on any given day, it was a fair bet that the Norsteins might be in Azure Rocks for either business or pleasure, and this day, to the good fortune of Brooke and Heather, happened to be one of those days.
The Ravers Palace Hotel was still owned by Robert, though following his firing from the company he would probably be expected to pass it on to Daniel if he weren’t splitting off into his own company, however, the mother daughter duo couldn’t get complacent. Anyone from Ravers Enterprises who might be watching, either intentionally or otherwise, could get suspicious if they saw the pair enter only hours after finding out that Robert had been ousted from his own company, especially if they were seen to be riding to the Penthouse floor, and such a person connected the dots to Nordsteins.
Just like Robert and Daniel at the Wynwick foundation headquarters, Brooke and Heather arrived separately, though they went even further and entered the building separately, riding up to the elevator alone and only meeting inside the hotel suite. Heather knocked on their door, not knowing if she was the first to arrive or not, and was greeted by the smiling face of Andrew Nordstein. She grinned back, the presence of her old friend immediately putting her at ease, her anxiety almost completely evaporating. There was a lot hinging on this meeting, but just seeing Andrew and remembering their good times made it all seem a little more possible.
“Hi,” he said simply, taking her coat and hanging it near the door. “You’re looking absolutely beautiful.”
“I’m the one here to court you. Professionally, I mean,” Heather said, as Andrew offered her his arm to lead her into the main room. “I should be buttering you up, not the other way around.”
“I’m not flattering you because I want something. I’m just telling the truth. It’s been a while since we last saw each other, and once again, I’m simply struck by how mesmerizingly pretty you are,” Andrew said, looking straight ahead, his head gently tilted in her directly, and speaking in a low voice so only she could hear. “But, if you want to toot my horn, I won’t stop you.”
Before Heather could question what kind of tooting Andrew was suggesting, she found herself stepping into the open plan living area. A kitchen sat in one corner, a breakfast bar acting as a divide, but most of the long wide floor was taken up by two long sofas facing each other, a rectangular glass table in between. On one side, furthest from Heather but facing the entrance way satAndrew’s father Klaus, one leg balancing on his knee, and arm stretched out along the back of the sofa. On the other, with her back to Heather but turning when she saw Klaus’ attention leave her, Heather’s mother sat, legs crossed as well, hands on her lap, her skirt lifting just enough to tease her long, succulent legs.
“I hope you haven’t started without me,” Heather said as she crossed the room to greet Klaus, sharing a brief hug with the man and receiving two kisses, one for each cheek.
The time between seeing Andrew’s father was so great that Heather often forgot how handsome the older man was in his own right. Only a year younger that her own dad, Klaus was a good looking man with short brown hair and grey eyes, both of which he’d passed on to his son, and if Klaus was any indication, age was going be of remarkable benefit to Andrew. Years of living had left the older man well-built and strong, with a slight natural tan, or as so far as Heather could see, since most of his body was covered by a professionally tailored suit. Comparing the father to the son though, Heather could help but curiously wonder what other big, hard characteristics they might share.
“No, we waited for you,” Brooke confirmed, rising out of courtesy at her daughter’s arrival, and letting her pass to sit side by side on the sofa.
To Heather’s surprise, Andrew stepped past his father too, and joined him on the opposite sofa, the two women directly facing the two men. Her reaction must have been clear by her expression, for Klaus quickly asked, “You don’t mind if my son joins us. He’s currently studying for his business degree, but I’d very much like for him to gain some proper hands on experience outside of the classroom.”
“I have no problem with it,” Brooke said.
“No, me neither,” Heather insisted, composing herself again.
“Where is Alice though?” Brooke asked, taking a genuine interest.
“Oh, she’s helping assisting Ester Ross at an ‘Association of Voting Women’ meeting downtown, in preparation for the upcoming Governor election. That’s why we’re even in town today,” Klaus explained cheerily. “And she’s speaking on a ‘Christian Woman’s League’ forum tonight at the Rock Fellowship, to answer questions about corruption in the town. Apparently, some people think all these tourists are bringing the devil into our sweet little town.”
“Ha,” Brooke couldn’t restrain her laugh. “These are probably the same people that used to protest Robert’s s…parties, back in the day.” The word sex had been on the very tip of her tongue, but she censored herself in front of Heather. “All they succeeded in doing was making Robert more careful, and nothing came of it.”
“Indeed, and if I remember correctly, a few senior members of the ‘CWL’ were regular attendees of your Robert’s parties.” Klaus shrugged. “But they do wield some influence amongst the community, so it’s a good idea not to piss them off unless you want your liquor license revoked the day before your business opens, or a surprise health inspection.” Seeing Heather’s face, he added, “It’s not that God-fearing people are sticking together, you see, it’s just good old-fashioned business and politics. One person owes another a favor, and when you rub the wrong person the wrong way, that favor gets called in against you. So, my wife does a few events for them, and I stay in their good graces. It’s a small price to pay, really.”
“Alice does seem very busy,” Heather admitted, impressed.
“Absolutely,” Klaus agreed. “I wouldn’t be half the businessman I am today without her.”
“Speaking of business, and favors, we have one to ask of you,” Brooke said with a glance at her watch, eager to move the conversation along since they were on a tight schedule.
“Okay, I’m listening.”
“I’m sure that you’ve heard all about the recent events at Ravers Enterprises on the news; Robert retiring, naming his son as CEO and the subsequent reveal that Zack wasn’t his child at all. What hasn’t been reported yet is that Robert was voted out of the company completely last night, and Daniel was named in his place,” Brooke uncrossed her legs and leaned forward, her elbows on her now covered knees. “Daniel, however, recognizes that Robert and Heather are an integral part of what made Ravers Enterprises tick. So, Daniel is planning to leave Ravers Enterprises, and join us, Robert, Heather, Zack, Chastity and myself, in forming a new company that will compete directly with the old one.”
“The ‘Ravers-Bishop Corporation’, or ‘RBC’ for short, is what we’re calling ourselves,” Heather continued on from her mother’s explanation. “But, as a new, fledgling company we need some strong support in order to compete with the old Ravers Enterprises. That’s why we’re turning to you. Klaus, you have a long-standing partnership with my father, and Andrew, we got way back too. We share a bond that can never be erased. We’re simply asking that those relationships continue.”
“Let me stop you there,” Klaus held up his hand. “You don’t need to sell me on the idea, the answer is ‘yes’.”
“Are you serious?” Heather asked, holding back a joyful scream. “I mean, are you sure? We haven’t even told you about our project.”
“Certainly. As you say, there’s an old friendship at play here and I just wouldn’t feel right, funding a company that Robert was competing with. So, if I can do anything to make this process easier, I’m happy to contribute. Daniel isn’t wrong, Robert and you are the ones with the golden touch, and I really have no interest in a Ravers Enterprises that doesn’t have Robert as its life blood,” Klaus confirmed. “But I do want to hear more about this project.”
“Well, you know the old Amusement Park in town?” Heather waited for both Klaus and Andrew to nod before going on. “I have the deed in my name, and we intend to renovate the whole site. At the moment, it’s run down, none of the rides work and it’s mostly arcade games and side shows. Tourists aren’t interested, which is a shame. Consider a family coming to stay in one of the cabins. They spend a day hiking Silver Lakes, and they spend a day in town at the Amusement Park. That’s going to be a big boost to lots of other businesses in the area too, like the mall, or the restaurants.”
“You’ve clearly thought this out very well,” Klaus commended her. “What do you think Andrew?”
“I agree. Even without the previous agreement, the project sounds like a worthwhile investment for our company.”
“Excellent,” Klaus said, standing and extending his hand. “So, you can continue to count us as your ally.”
“Thank you,” Brooke clasped his hands in both of hers as they shook. “This means so much to us, and I know Robert will want to thank you in person.”
“Probably with a bottle of whiskey. It had become something of a tradition between the two of us, that every time we closed a deal, that he’d bring a bottle of whiskey and we’d celebrate with a drink, or two.” Klaus paused thoughtfully as he shook Heather’s small, fine hand. “Hmmm, say, how’s about the four of us have a small drink to celebrate?”
“I don’t know,” Brooke frowned, and glanced again at her watch. “Besides, Heather isn’t twenty-one.”
“Neither is Andrew here. He’s just shy of it. But in private, who would even know?” Klaus asked. “I’m not going to tell anyone about a very mature girl who had one small drink.”
Brooke could see his point. Additionally there was no real hurry now that they’d quickly secured the deal, they could easily make it to the Smith Industries Steel Mill sooner rather than later, and even it was a harder sell to Arthur, Brooke was confident that she could convince him. She rationalized the urge to stay even further, telling herself that it did seem rather rude to leave immediately after taking Klaus' money.
“Okay,” she relented and raised a lone finger to Andrew who was already getting to his feet. “Just one though.”
Dashing to the kitchen and back in a matter of minutes, the young man returned with a red labelled bottle of MacCutcheon whiskey and four shot glasses. He brought them to the coffee table between the two sofas and set out the glasses, one in front of each person. After filling each glass three quarters full, Andrew lifted his and stepped back, watching as the others followed suit. All four stood and held their shots high.
“To partnerships, old and new,” Klaus toasted.
“Long may they last,” Heather added, and downed the fiery liquid simultaneously with the others.
As the whiskey warmed their insides, they all set down their glasses and sat down again on the sofas, basking simply in their success. Klaus, however, let out a chuckle and shook his head.
“What is it?” Heather asked, smiling and curious. “What’s so funny?”
“Oh, it’s nothing,” Klaus tried to deflect. “It’s just…I was remembering another way your father and I celebrated once.”
“Oh no,” Brooke buried her face in her hands, embarrassed.
“What?” Heather’s face dropped as her eyes darted from Klaus to her mother, her curiosity coming intrigue and concern. “What’s he talking about, mum?”
“Yeah, I want to know too,” Andrew agreed. “You can’t just drop a hint like that and leave it hanging.”
“This is a little inappropriate to be telling you kids, but, if you really want to know, well…” Klaus scratched his chin, wondering what the best words were to tell his son about what had happened almost eighteen years ago.
“Let me tell them,” Brooke said, lowering her hands to reveal her reddened face. “I don’t want my daughter getting the wrong idea about me.”
“This was many years ago, just after you were born, I believe, back when your father and I were still trying to make things work, and I didn’t know he was having an affair with that Bishop woman. Your father and I were continuing to experiment with different events and scenarios,” Brooke set the scene, dreading the next part of the story. “So, your father and I had just had a business meeting with Klaus and Alice over dinner, and retired to the manor for a nightcap. We were drinking, and it was so long ago I don’t know how it came up, only that your dad complimented Alice for something. Her smile, I think, or her laugh. Klaus complimented me in return. It was a stupid thing they used to do, getting into silly competitions over trivial things, though it was always for fun and they never got heated over it. And of course, at that moment one such competition broke out.”
“Your dad kept complimenting Alice and Klaus was complimenting me in return, and the compliments were getting increasingly less innocent. My chest, Alice’s ass, that kind of thing, until Klaus here had to take it to another level,” Brooke shot her ex-husband’s long standing business partner a cool glare, and he returned it with a smile, remembering exactly where this story was going. “He bet Robert, no money, just pride, that I was wearing better lingerie than his wife, or that even if I wasn’t, that I’d still look better. I don’t know what got into either of us, and I can’t speak for Alice, but I was a little tipsy and their compliments did have me feeling very good about myself, so we agreed.”
“We stripped and the men took to complimenting us again, talking about how much better we looked outside of our dresses than in them. And, of course, this led to them talking about how much better we must look without any clothes on. This time I don’t remember there being any hesitation and we stripped completely for Klaus and Robert.” Brooke continued, noticing Andrew and Heather’s rapt attention. “This time it was Robert who initiated the escalation, suggesting that Alice must be the better kisser. But as soon as he kissed her and Klaus kissed me, the competition fell completely by the wayside. And I’m sure you can imagine what happened next.”
Heather could certainly imagine what happened next, the very pictures that those thoughts conjured in her mind causing her body to grow flushed and sticky, her pussy so wet it stained a line down the gusset of her panties. Klaus’ big cock, as big as Andrew’s, fucking her mother was her only pervasive thought, and when she imagined the woman, she saw a younger version of her mother, who looked just like herself but slightly older, on her back, legs wide, watching that cock saw in and out of her young cunt.
The air was thick with the tension. Everyone was thinking about sex, some remembering, some imagining, their lust weighing heavy upon the room. The dropping of a pin wouldn’t just be heard but might have ignited the quartet into a foursome. Brooke didn’t say anything, terrified of doing something like that in front of her own daughter, while Heather held her tongue, afraid her mother wouldn’t want to experiment again, while Andrew simply didn’t feel comfortable making the first move. Thus, it was up to Klaus.
“Heather…” he said, his soft, ominous words piercing through the dense atmosphere. “Would you mind swapping seats with me?”
The word ‘swapping’ seemed to ring in Heather’s head like a church bell. Her mouth was so dry she couldn’t speak. Only nodding, and somehow finding the strength in her body to stand and walk around the coffee table. However, she didn’t take Klaus’ seat, instead finding a much nicer one on Andrew’s lap and immediately stuck her tongue into the twenty-year-old’s mouth.
“I can’t…” Brooke protested unconvincingly as Klaus filled the space where Heather once was, and placed a tempting hand on her knee. “Not in front of Heather.”
“She doesn’t seem to mind,” Klaus noted, looking across the way and directing Brooke’s own eyes towards their children making out on the opposite sofa. “And I know Alice won’t mind. She’ll only be disappointed that she and Robert couldn’t join us. So, what do you say? Want to relive a few memories?”
Brooke didn’t say yes or no, but she neither stopped him when Klaus leaned in to kiss her, nor when she felt his hand, sliding up her leg.
Do they continue with the celebration? How far do they go?
