Run, Rosie, Run

As the three of them watched the naked form of 1860 Drusilla run off into the distance, future Driscilla turned to future Rose and said, "Go after her, Rose. Keep her away from the river. Save her at all costs even if she gives you a command forbidding you to do so."

"Okay," said future Rose.

And just like that, she was running after the other Drusilla, hurrying as if her life depended on it.

She hadn't gone more than a few yards than Rose realized she could run a lot faster if she took off her dress. So she did so. She would have taken off her underwear as well but that would take too long. And right now time was of the essence.

Yes, she was getting a lot of strange looks from passersby but she had no time to worry about that. Young Princess's life depended on her ability to catch up with her. There was no time to worry about modesty or embarrassment.

Meanwhile, Marcie looked at future Drusilla and said, "Okay. What just happened?"

"My younger self has decided to commit suicide rather than risk becoming a vampire like me," said future Drusilla. "Which means she's probably going to jump off the first bridge she comes to and drown herself."

"How can you be so sure?" asked Marcie.

"Because she basically implied that when she said she did not want her dress to smell like river water," said future Drusilla. "Besides, I did the same thing the first chance I had to get away from Darla and Angelus when I first became a vampire. I wanted to end my eternal torment and ended up surviving anyway because as a vampire, I cannot drown. Young Drusilla, however, is not a vampire so she'll surely die."

"Well, then why are we just standing here then?" asked Marcie. "Why not go after her just in case Rose has trouble stopping her?"

"You go after her, Marcie," said future Drusilla. "I have to stay in case the Two-Hearted Witch comes back."

"The Two-Hearted Witch isn't going to come back," said Marcie. "Rose said that she made a special point of making sure she was destroyed."

"But that's just it, Marcie," said future Drusilla. "The Two-Hearted Witch can not be destroyed. She can only be deterred."

Just then somebody shot a crossbow bolt into Marcie's left leg.

Marcie screamed and clutched her leg as future Drusilla turned to see a familiar figure who was standing several feet away and holding a crossbow.

"Hurts, doesn't it, Agent Ross?" asked the woman whom Marcie knew as Missy and future Drusilla knew as the Two-Hearted Witch. "Now imagine how much it hurts being set on fire."
