Female

The cub was female like its mother. She has a humanoid baby face and lion cub body small underdeveloped blue dragon-like wing and a scorpion tail with no sting yet. She already has rows of sharp teeth in her little baby mouth. She is about the size of a young puppy of a medium-sized dog. A human would struggle to carry her with one arm but as a Centaur, you could just about cope. She is currently wrapped close to your chest.

You look to your group of survivors. You see the old man he is heling the badly injured man to stand. The old man seems to have bandaged the injured man using strips of cloth from his own shirt. The young boy who had called the injured mad"Daddy" was clinging to his side.

Harrold and presumably his wife were holding the wrapped body of the woman you could not save. The dead lady's daughter was crying at their feet.

The other previously **** human was a young woman. She is wearing a tattered grey dress and had red hair and green eyes that look a bit dazed. She ran up and hugged you. "Thank, you Thank you, Thank you" She graciously said. she only came up to your belly currently covered with the bloodstained rags you had swaddled the cub in She looked up to see the cub wriggling in her papoose. "AHHh, it's still alive." She screamed and shuffled away. This drew looks from all the others.

"She had a baby, I could not kill a baby. You need not worry I will look after it and teach it not to kill humans." You reassure them. "Now let's move away from this foul place. We will make camp at nightfall and get back to town tomorrow.

You lead the way back towards town. Humans were so much slower than you especially with the children but it was worth it. You had saved their lives and you could feel the respect and gratitude they held for you.

Dusk comes and you make camp in a forest clearing. You only have the one Centaur sized tent. You have 7 humans, one Manticore cub and two dead bodies. You place the bodies at one side of the grove, far enough away from the bushes to make it hard for predators to take them unnoticed. You made a fire and set up the tent. The injured man and the children would share the tent and you and the adults would take turn keeping watcht and keeping the fire going. The young girl was **** to leave the body off her mother and all the humans were hungry. You gave the humans your sore of rations as you could buy more in town. You had rations your self, dried meat and unleavened bread washed down with water from a waterskin. The cub, however, would need something different.

You gave the cub to Harrold and his wife intrusting them to keep it safe as you went hunting. You shot 4 rabbits. One for the cub now, one for its breakfast and two you would skin and dry for a good breakfast for the rest of you to share hopefully you would reach the town before lunchtime.

Returning you see that Harrold kept his promise and you cub is safe. She ravenously eats the rabbit you give her along with the guts and drained blood of the two you have prepared for tomorrow hanging them near but not on the fire to dry out but not burn. Having eaten the cub falls asleep her swaddling keeping her warm. Harrold and his wife volunteer for the first watch as the old man known as Shakaste carries the little girl to the tent as she has cried herself to sleep by the body of her mother. The boy had already fallen asleep with his farther in the tent. Shakaste sits outside the tent and falls asleep leaning up against the tent pole. Harrold and his wife, Sarah, will wake you and the young woman, Hwin, in the middle of the night and you will watch until dawn.
