Spare the baby (M)

You could not kill a baby, you yearn for a herd of your own this could be its first member; althoug an odd one. "Your wounds are too severe, you will not make it but I give you my word I will rase and protect your child as part of my herd." You tell the Manticore "Now allow me to approach and I will give you a swift ****." You prepose

"Let me say goodbye." The Manticore replies as she coughs up blood. You nod in response and the manticore crawls over to the baby on the nest leaving a trail of blood. She picks it up in her paws "Mommy loves you, my child, Mummy did some bad things to provide for you and now she has to go away. This kind man will look after you. Mummy loves you." She cries as she cradles the baby who is probably too young to understand her. Brings the baby over to you and hands it over. "Take care of them, they need meat to eat and warm blood to drink as their digestive system is different from yours. Milk would make them sick." You hold the manticore cub in one arm clutching it to your chest turning its head away from its mother. Its little claws catch on your armour. You take your spear in your other hand and thrust it deep into the exposed chest of the mother. She holds back a scream and mouths "thank you".

You remove your breastplate and using some of the blankets from the nest you swaddle the cub to your chest to give you use of your hands. You wrap the corps of the adult in the remainder of the blankets and sling it over your back as you need proof for the king. You find some gold coins and other bits of jewellery in the nest.

Looking around you see the corps of the lady and the other hostages are gone. You hear voices from the rest of the cave. "Are you coming Centaur? We could use your protection on the way back to town, it is nearly dark and bad things come out at night." a voice asks.

"I have what I need. I am on my way." You reply and leave the cave.
