Explaining Things To Stupid People

"Now, I'm going to go over this one more time, gentlemen..." Ketsueki explained, padding up and down along the elevated wooden platform. Admittedly it only added a couple more inches to her height, but combined with the heels, she towered over the small crowd of subordinates that kneeled in proper respect to her position as the Oyabun's wife. Heh. Formality was such a funny thing, since everybody knew that Wardell and she mutually ran the clan.

"Nobody gets their necks broken today. Nobody gets used for a scrying ritual, and Nobody decides to have fun interrogating the bad guys before we actually find out some information," Ketsueki looked sharply at one of the smaller men in his dark clothing. Not a bad kid, but way too enthusiastic about being a demon bound Yakuza. Maybe it had something to do with the girl he was bound to. Ketsueki made a mental note to talk to that little Fox spirit when she decided to show up and torment him again. It was cute, but the last thing she needed was another male trying to PROVE himself to a girl who would never be satisfied.

"Hai, Bosu!" came the assembled chant. Say what you will about thugs, but they were only as bad as the person giving them orders.

"Tonight's little excursion will be a show of ****, ONLY. We show up, show the owner we mean business, and work something out. Looks like a clan from a few cities west is trying to expand. So, these might be our people we're up against. Last thing we need is a clan war, GOT IT?"

"HAI!" Came the chant again. Ketsueki liked her thugs. They were good thugs. Most of them were bound in some way to one of the poorer Monster girls in the city. Over time she had discovered that sticking together made sense. Traditions, well, when she'd been younger they never would have been something she thought about, but now the formality made sense. Unless you kept things orderly within your community, somebody else would, and they might not have the same ideas about live and let live.

Ketsueki's eyes took in the group, still sitting patiently. Her eyes flitted to a small flash of metal concealed beneath a piece of clothing.

"Gumai! What did I JUST say?" Ketsueki paused her steps to look at the large man who was carefully trying to look like he was completely innocent and had absolutely done nothing.

"No... Uh... smashing up the little guys, Bosu?" Gumai looked up at her, his face showing that he hadn't been paying the slightest bit of attention, just repeating the chants along with the rest of the thugs.

"Give it here, Gumai..." Ketsueki extended her hand.

The thug rolled his eyes, before removing a large double bladed dagger from the sleeve of his tunic, revealing an elegant line of tattoos that Ketsueki recalled applying fondly.

"Anything else?" Ketsueki looked around the room, and quickly collected several other lethal implements.

"I didn't THINK I needed to say no stabbing, but... apparently I do." Ketsueki sighed. "So, lets go over all the OTHER things that we won't be doing tonight."
