To the Market!

Going out (again)

Chapter 44 by SilverSpectre006 SilverSpectre006

"How do I look, Master?"

KuliKuli spun around, admiring the new cloak Janette had purchased for her before. It suited her, silk white in color with pink flowers decorating it, though with a bit of tinkering Felix managed to change the pink into brown. He hoped she wouldn't mind, and in fact KuliKuli loved it and spent all night riding him in bed.

Janette made sure to buy a large size despite KuliKuli's small frame as the baggy sleeves were perfect for concealing her paws. The extra space all around with the large hoodie assisted in hiding her ears and tails, and she had been waiting for an opportunity to go out in her new favorite cloak. Now, she was spinning around grinning ear to ear awaiting her mate's response. He would be mad to say she looked horrid, even as a joke.

"You look amazing, you know. That's just you in anything though if you ask me."

"Oh, so it's not me when I'm wearing nothing?" She teased back, paws behind her.

Felix smirked and shook his head as she walked up to him. "You know what I mean."

"I do." She kissed him when he flinched afterwards. "What?"

"Your breath." He chuckled as she smacked his arm with her paw. "What? Brushing those teeth would do you a bit of good."

"Hmph! No more milking you for a week, meanie!" She stuck her tongue at him and blew a raspberry, causing him to laugh and wave his hands.

"I'm sorry, that came out wrong. Your breath does smell a bit from earlier though, but-oh!" He paused, feeling something slide around his neck before rubbing against his cheek. It was soft and furry, flinching before covering his lips.

"Shhh, no more mean words Master. See, better. I like you more this way hehe." KuliKuli winked before letting go, retrieving her tails back under her cloak. You don't mess with a Nekomata.

"Hurry Master, I don't want another morning waking up so sick!" He sighed with a smile to him before following behind her and out the door.

"No purchases, just here to watch, okay? So you two behave now." "Don't worryyyy Jay-Jay, we'll be good! Right, Reta?"

Reta groaned. "I am not a child you know. I don't need adult supervision."

Janette took her by the arm and leaned in close, whispering to her. "No, but between you and I you're the one I trust most. Make sure she doesn't get in any trouble okay?"

Reta nodded before the two Monster girls headed off elsewhere. Felix grinned and walked alongside Janette as they explored down the marketplace.

"You know she heard you talk about her."

"What?"

"KuliKuli, she totally caught you speaking to Reta to look after her."

"You don't know that, she would've said something if she did."

"Oh I know. I heard, and I was farther away. She was probably just being nice, as always."

Janette looked up at Felix who was grinning with a pair of shades on. It looked rather silly on him, and he knew it. Probably why he wore them on the first place.

"You and your abilities are creeping me out more and more you know that?"

"Ha! You love it, don't lie."

"Keep telling yourself that." She grinned, walking into an open shop with books on display. A woman in her middle age was behind the counter, explaining a novel to a potential buyer as they approached the stands. Janette glanced over, checking the letter M section for anything useful or interesting. Felix looked over and picked out the first book his eyes landed on.

"What's this, Neighbors Next Door?"

"Oh, that one isn't for little younglings like yourself, handsome." The woman spoke, her attention now to him. Janette snickered to his right, placing a hand over her mouth much to his annoyance.

"I'm flattered you call me handsome, but how old do you take me for?"

"Why, I would pin you at a age younger then seventeen, am I right?"

Janette cackled in harsh laughter, openly mocking him for the shopkeepers comments. Felix groaned and looked away, feeling a bit of sweat begin to form on his head. Janette nudging his elbow didn't help hide the slight red on his face, while the poor woman smiled and watched.

"I beg pardon, am I wrong in assuming your age?"

"Not at all, he's a real child ma'am. I always have to keep him in check." She giggled before clearing her throat and pushing Felix away, closing the gap between her and the saleswoman. "Got anything for Monsters by chance?"

"Afraid not, deary. But next week I can find something for you if you'd like."

"I'd love it, thanks." She smiled before dragging Felix by the arm and waving goodbye at the woman.

"Take good care of your little brother, miss!" She waved back. Janette would never let him hear the end of it.
