Annie speaks up

"I thought it was really nice when you stood up for your sister earlier." Annie breaks the awkwardness, taking a long swig out of her cup.

"Um, thanks! I just really don't like bullies, you know?" You snap out of it and reply honestly. Annie's face visibly brightens at your response.

"Something we have in common! I'm on the student disciplinary board. If it were up to me, guys like Carter would never be allowed to be admitted here. My mom told me his mother donated the new gymnasium just to get him enrolled after he failed one of the aptitude tests." Annie informs you, pulling a face at one of Carter's clones nearest the door.

"Great. So he's a rich jackass." You both watch just as another girl you recognize as Juliet, slaps Carter in the face before rushing off in a huff after he attempts to grab her ass.

"Ugh. I can tell he's already going to be a headache. Listen, I'm sorry to blow you off like this but I should probably go and make sure that she's okay." Annie looks at you apologetically, handing you her cup.

"Yeah, no worries." You take the cup and wave her off understandingly, counting yourself lucky to have talked as long as you had. "Maybe, we can find each other later?" You ask optimistically.

"Definitely!" Annie, squeezes your arm before turning away and taking after Juliet.
