One hour later, the basement door opened and Halfrek walked down the stairs.

"I've been looking all over for you, Buffy," said Halfrek. "Anyanka has been making all this big to-do about something your friend Willow's been telling her and -- Wait a minute! Why are you two naked?"

"None of your business," said Dark Willow, not even bothering to conceal her naked body from the view of Halfrek the vengeance demon.

Buffy, on the other hand, though equally naked, just stared at Halfrek and asked, "Who are you?"

"Who am I?' asked Halfrek. "Oh, come on. I realize a lot of time has gone by since we last saw each other, Buffy, but it hasn't been that long ago. I'm Halfrek."

Buffy just stared at her and asked, "Oh, really? So who's this Buffy you keep talking about?"

"You're Buffy," said Halfrek.

"I am?" asked Buffy. "How come I don't remember this?"

"How should I know?" asked Halfrek. "I don't know everything that you humans do. Anyway, Anyanka said something about a wish gone wrong. Something that your friend Willow said."

"Willow?" asked Buffy. "Who's -- Wait a minute. Do you mean Mistress Willow here?"

Buffy pointed to Dark Willow, who looked at Halfrek with an enigmatic expression on her face.

"Mistress Willow?" asked Halfrek. "Is that what you're calling yourself now? I love the new hair color and clothing style but the name... Not that much."

"I didn't choose it for you," said Dark Willow. "Anyway, it's a good thing for you that I like brunettes."

"So you like brunettes," said Halfrek. "Why should I care? Now about that wish..."

"I don't remember anything about a wish," said Buffy. "In fact, I can't remember a thing apart from what happened an hour ago after Mistress Willow showed up."

"Mistress Willow?" asked Halfrek. "Why do you keep calling her tha --"

And then Halfrek saw the rabbit that used to be regular Willow Rosenberg.
