Climb Out

Not willing to risk it with those ants, you decide to get out of those tunnels ASAP. Unfortunately, the hole above you looks deeper than you'd thought when you fell in, and those eerie glowing walls look like they might be too smooth to climb. You consider searching for another way out, but when you hear the footsteps of more ant creatures fast approaching you to scramble up the wall.

Whatever it is those walls were built with is incredibly malleable, instantly forming handholds when you grab at them but still somehow supporting your weight. It makes the climb far easier. In fact, it would be a downright pleasant climb. However, the light here pulsates in a way that makes you very uneasy and the hole seems to have a bit of an angle to it rather than just being the straight line you fell through. That, combined with the added depth, makes you feel that something is seriously wrong here, but you know there's no going back. You have **** but to press on. Eventually, you find your way out the top of the hole, but your surroundings are completely different from where you entered.

You now find yourself in a dark forest. You can vaguely make out a lake to the west, twinkling in the starlight, and to the east, the forest gets deeper and darker. Perhaps far more interesting is the colourful tents and lights of a circus to the north. You think of heading there, but the tents have a shiny latex-like sheen to them, something that given everything else you've seen tonight makes you hesitant to go there. All in all, it looks like you'd be better off just going back to those tunnels... except that, when you turn to where the hole was, you find that it's mysteriously vanished. It seems you'll have to go elsewhere.
