Phone calls Part One

After eating breakfast with Emiko, Spencer headed home, where he found Amy sleeping on the couch, having spent what he assumed was a late night. As headed to his bedroom for a change of clothes, his phone began to vibrate. In his room, he answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Hey Spencer." His father Glenn said.

"How's it going?"

"Good, you?"

"Yeah, pretty good. Been up to much?"

"Actually, that's why I'm calling. Your mother and I have booked the cruise trip."

"Oh, awesome. So when does that happen?"

"Mid December."

"Oh, so you won't be here for Christmas?"

"No, sorry."

"That's okay, we can organize something early this year."

"Sounds like a plan. Anything else?"

"No. I think that's it. So anything else going on?"

"Yeah actually, I have something to tell you?"

"What is it?"

"You remember my high school friend that moved here?"

"Jessica?"

"Jasmine."

"Oh yeah, that's right."

"Well, her and her partner want a baby, and they want me to be the father."

"Oh... okay then. I guess if that's what they want."

"Yeah."

"So have you agreed?"

"Yeah, we're working on it."

"So, is there a procedure."

"We're doing things the natural way."

"Oh. Okay then. Guess you can't beat the proven method."

"I'll say."

Glenn chuckled for a second. "Do the Tremblay's know?"

Knowing he meant Kirstin's parents "Not yet. I'll call them soon."

"You better let them know."

"I will."

"Is Amy around?"

"Uhh, she's still asleep."

"Fair enough. Do you want to talk to mom?"

"Sure."

Glenn puts Spencer's mother Kathy on the line. He caught her up on the Jasmine situation as Kathy caught him up on her book club. Once done, Kathy said her goodbyes and hung up. Once the call was over, Spencer sighed as he looked to his contacts.
