For the day time, Sven roamed the fields in search of monsters to slay and herbs to sell, whenever he would fill his inventory he would return the vendor, again and again he wasn't too pleased to see the local hero, but he'd be a fool to pass up on buying the goods Sven brought him, especially with there being a war raging between the two neighboring kingdoms. Poisons, potion ingredients, all of it was useful to traveling merchants that would pedal the goods into the cities.

A city would be a good place to move to, but only once Sven felt strong enough, cities were large and the enemies he would have to face there larger still, it wouldn't do for him to roll into the city with naught but a bat toothed stave and a dream. Speaking of which, the kills were just breezing by using this new weapon, what would have taken 3 or 4 hits with the old stick were now taking 2 if not 1 singular hit with the added damage and armor piercing aspects.

A bat stave is a good early game weapon for this area, but its raw damage needs to be increased if it's going to translate well into tougher zones. Sven was consciously walking further through the forest as he slew monster after monster, after his last slime kill he noticed that yellow flashing once again. Yet another level up, at level 5 he felt confident enough to enter the deep forest, the shop keeper had warned him of the bandits but with it being broad daylight he would have good visibility of any bandits that would be hiding, that and he was avoiding any and all clearings.

As he walked through, he came across his first wolf pack. 3 wolfs were resting by a tree, Sven readied his stave and charged, the wolfs took notice of his presence and readied themselves. Two of them tried to flank either side of him and the target backed off to avoid his attack. This was a pretty common tactic for pack monsters, however Sven had designed a system for fighting them efficiently.

Keeping his eyes on the wolf backing away from him, he suddenly changed the direction of his stave and struck into the wolf that was attacking him from his left flank, ducking to dodge the one attacking his right. The wolf on his left died to a critical hit, a headshot that he had aimed for all without looking. The trick was where your eyes were facing, it tricked the system into believing that you were targeting the decoy opponent, when actually your target is one of the monsters that thinks it's unnoticed by the player.

The two remaining wolves padded around Sven swiftly, this was another tactic they liked to use, it was meant to tire you out or waste attack timings, Sven merely bode his time, it's no use in finding out if there's a respawn feature, wolves at this stage are still some what of a threat to a new player, even a level 5 can die to a mistake against multiple opponents. The wolves ended up tiring themselves out as Sven didn't take the bait, switching tactics the one currently behind Sven lunged for his legs, only for Sven to swing his stave around for another critical hit against the wolfs head. As his weapon was lodged into the now dead wolf, the last remaining one made a leap for Svens throat.

Sven grabbed the wolfs throat mid strike and lead the trajectory of its jump all the way along and onto the blunt end of his stave, impaling the wolf through its eye socket and causing yet another critical hit, it died on impact winning Sven the fight.

Sven deposited the wolves into his storage space, a wolf was a welcome addition to his inventory of raw goods, they'd definitely come into good use later tonight.
