Ask Ms. Campbell on a date.

On Friday, after school hours are over, you gather your courage and head for Ms. Campbell’s office. This is still scary, but not as much as it would be in any other situation. You know she’s fond of you by her score of 52, and even if she says no and her score goes down, taking it back up again shouldn’t be too hard.

You knock on the door and you hear her voice telling you to come in.

“Oh, Mr. Walker! What can I do for you?” She asks with a smile that says she’s happy to see you. It’s simple, but it means a heck of a lot these days.

“Hello, Ms. Campbell,” You begin. “I was wondering if you’d like to go see a movie with me tomorrow.”

Her eyes widen a bit and her mouth is half open. She was obviously taken by surprise.

“Mr. Walker… I don’t know if we should. I’m your teacher.” She frowns, and there’s a bit of sadness in her eyes. You don’t know if that pity towards a student with a crush on her, or regret that she has to decline. Still, you decide to press forward.

“I just thought that I wanted to repay you for helping me out. Things have slowly started changing since I talked to you. I’m very thankful.” You give her a wry smile. “I wanted to thank you, but this was the only thing I could think of.”

She looks at you, smiles and shakes her head. “You’re already 18, right?” She asks.

Confused, you nod.

“Then we’re having drinks. I think I’d like that a little better.” She chuckles. “We can go right now if you’re up for it. Are you free?”
