Chapter 3 by Westwall Westwall

The invasion begins...

A small diner in New Jersey...

The small diner had been technically closed since 8pm but Stacy was here all the same. The young college girl had been working as late as possible to make some extra cash for her living. The cooks had all gone home and it was just her here now, closing up shop. Blond hair framed a pretty face, with piercing green eyes that were so innocent compared to most. She was a psychology major that tried not to party too much, and she made sure to put effort into other parts of her life. Her slender build was the envy of some of her sisters, but she worked her ass off for it.

Carrying one of the drawers back to its register, Stacy looked to see one of the doors swinging open in the light summer breeze. Didn’t she shut that earlier? Slamming the drawer back in its place, Stacy moved towards it with leery eyes. She usually locked all of the doors after the rest of the employees left, and she could’ve swore she did that here. Doing a small glance outside, Stacy shrugged and shut the door with a slam. Using her keys, she locked the diner and made her way back to the manager’s office.

Her bright blue uniform was scratching against her skin and she was **** to remove it honestly. She couldn’t wait to get home and just lay in her bed. There was a party going on at one of the local fraternities, but Stacy could care less at this point. She needed some rest and by God, she was going to get it.

The Rijik had been deposited on this world in clusters, their pods slamming into the Earth with relative quickness. The drop was not harmful to the chitin-armored creatures that lay nestled inside, their missions quite easy to understand. The Rijik were a hive-mind creature, their thoughts no longer independent. Each drone is connected by neutral links to the hive itself, their movements and thoughts all being managed by a single organism. To think that the vast empire of the Rijik is tied to one single individual bug is insane, if not terrifying. Regardless of that, a single drone had splashed down near the small town of Hayfield. The drone, keeping to the shadows of the advancing day, was attempting to find a suitable mate.

Rijik are one-minded in their breeding, as they are insatiable in their attempts to create more of their kind. Drones are instructed to find small towns filled with breed-able woman, in order to create a massive army that will drown the world they land on. This drone’s mission was no different of course, and it was vigilant as it moved across the ground with its many legs. This particular drone was of an average size, its age obvious by its ovipositor size and strength. The drone had finally acquired a good target in a single female in a small establishment. The night had come for this planet, and capturing her would be easy enough.

The gestation of a single Rijik larvae can take hours, meaning the Rijik life-cycle is very quick. Once he claimed this young woman, he would easily breed her and move on. She was slender built, but her body was young and she was alone. The intent of the drone was easy to understand from the beginning. The creature was able to sneak in to the building easily enough, its legs barely touching the floor as it skittered into the darkness nearby. Watching her with **** attention, the drone waited for her to close and lock the door after it swung open.

How would the drone take her? Harshly and with little feeling? Or should the first victim of the Rijik invasion be given slight care now that her job would be breeding an army?

How should the drone take the young woman?
