Cordelia tries to make a phone call

"I don't get it," said Kate as she cowered naked within the largest stall of the coffee shop ladies' room. "What's taking your friend so long to get here with your clothes?"

"I don't know," said Cordelia as she dialed Fred's number for the umpteenth time on her cell phone. "That's what I intend to find out as soon as I contact he -- Oh, damn!"

"What happened?" asked Kate.

"I lost my cell phone signal," said Cordelia.

"Maybe the demon lady ate it," said Kate.

"I don't think she would do that," said Cordelia. "In fact, I'm not even sure she's a demon lady."

"Are you kidding?" asked Kate. "She stripped us both of our clothes. Doesn't that make her a demon lady?"

"Well, it proves that she has some type of supernatural power," said Cordelia. "I'm not just sure it's demonic."

"Well, it's definitely not angelic," said Kate.

"No, it's not. But unfortunately, there are so many things she could be besides a demon," said Cordelia. "A witch. A wizard. An elf. A vampire -- okay, not a vampire because we saw her sitting right next to an uncovered window in the daylight. But she could also be -- "

"You're kidding, right?" asked Kate. "I know you and Angel see a lot of unusual things but an elf?"

"Hey, they don't all bake cookies, you know?" said Cordelia. "Oh, good. I finally got a signal."

"Good," said Kate. "Get your friend to bring over some clothes pretty quick. I'm getting pretty tired of standing here with my ass hanging out."

"Well, there's nothing to prevent you from calling your friends," said Cordelia.

"Yes, there is," said Kate. "The demon lady made me throw my phone away."

"So use my phone and call them," said Cordelia.

"No way," said Kate. "Most of my friends are cops and there's no way any of them are seeing me like this."

"Oh, well," said Cordelia. "In that case, I'll just call Fred and -- oh, good. It's dialing. Hello, Fred. This is Cordelia. I was just wondering -- Son of a bitch!"

"What happened?" asked Kate.

"Fred hung up on me," said Cordelia.
