Sayen Helps Out

Sayen had hid in her room until she heard everything get quiet. She was glad Bianca hadn't come back to pick anything up. She wasn't hurt by what she had said, but how she had said it. Yes, Bianca had pretty much been a big sister to her but she had never treated her like she was some stupid child. And poor Axe, she sighed. I'll make it up to him.

She cleaned up her face and eyes and headed downstairs. She grabbed the last of the dishes off of her table and headed into the kitchen, surprised to see Alex there, figuring everyone had already left.

"Hey," she quietly said, placing her dishes in the sink.

"Oh hey," he responded coming out of his daydream.

"I'll dry, help you finish up faster," she said, grabbing a towel.

"Oh, I've been taking my time," he responded.

"Thought so," she said giving him a grin.

She stood next to him, their arms bumping. When he sprayed the last dish, some splashed back and hit her.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to get you..." he started to say but then awkwardly stopped himself, remembering Bianca's words.

Sayen just laughed, wiping off her face with the towel, then smacking him in the back with it.

The first activity turned out to be the spider-web: a rope tied between two trees, intertwined to look like a web. The goal was to get everyone through the web without touching the ropes and waking the imaginary arachnid. Erik of course went first, using his long legs to get through. He and Brian then teamed up to "pass" Makayla through the web, Erik holding her arms and Brian holding her legs. As she stood up she bumped into Erik and they both grinned. They repeated the same with Gaby and Bianca. It was then decided that Axe should go last because he was skinny enough and had long enough legs to crawl through. He and Erik worked together to lift Brian through although Axe almost dropped him a couple times. Finally, Axe made it through with a dive that surprised everyone, especially Erik who had to catch him. Erik laughed as they hit the ground and for a moment all seemed to be all right with the group.

"Good job everyone, 9.7 on that dive Axe," Bianca said looking at her clip board. "Next activity, the trust fall. Let's go."

Makayla stiffened up at hearing "trust fall," but followed along.

Bianca looked back toward the cabins, wondering where Sayen and Alex were.
