Chapter 42 by Fantasy Fantasy

The tutoring session begins.

You find something in one of her notebooks.

Through the course of the session, you wonder why Vivian has so much trouble at school. Her notebooks are mostly empty, but when you explain things to her, she gets it fairly quickly. Math formulas and Spanish sentence structures don’t seem to cause her much trouble. She still needs to study more to really LEARN it, but she understands the concepts fast enough.

She’s even starting to open up a bit, asking more and more questions as time passes, gaining confidence when she realizes these things aren’t as hard as she thought. However, there are a few things that are (understandably) hard to get.

“So every verb in Spanish changes with the pronoun it’s used with?” She asks in a very frustrated tone.

“Yep. Unlike English, where you’d say:

-I run.

-You run.

-He runs.

-She runs.

…etc.

“In Spanish you say:

-Yo corro.

-Tu corres.

-El corre.

-Ella corre…”

You explain.

“That’s stupid.” She grumbles in a low voice.

“It is.” You nod in agreement. “I think I saw something about that in your notebook.”

You take her Spanish notebook and flip through the pages. As you do, you see something in the middle pages that catches your eye. It’s written in a random empty page, in different colors and handwritings.

“Muerete perra!”

“Vete al infierno!”

“Nadie te ama!”

“Chupa el pene!”

What the fuck!?

“Vivian, what is this?” You ask before thinking, and immediately regret it. You shouldn’t have called attention to it. You should’ve ripped the page and thrown it away later.

Fuck!

“What’s what?” She asks curiously, but her attitude shifts completely when she takes the notebook from you. Her grip on it is so tight she rips and couple of pages. She bites her lip and looks like she’s about to cry.

“…what does it say?” She asks hesitantly, her voice shaking.

So she doesn’t even know what it says? Well, not like she needs to. You’re sure she gets the message through context alone.

“…”

But even so, you don’t want to answer.

“What does it say!?” She yells, repeating her question. Her whole body is shaking.

“…” You take the notebook from her and set it on the table. You point at every sentence as you translate.

“Die bitch, go to hell, nobody loves you, suck a dick.” You speak in a low voice. You grind your teeth and your nails dig into your palms as you clench your fist.

Not being able to hold back anymore, Vivian begins to cry and rips the page off her notebook in one go.

“Why can’t they leave me alone!?” Her voice breaks. She runs up the stairs and you hear the slam of a door.

So this is what it was. No wonder she has bad grades. School is the last thing on her mind if this is what she’s going through.

You stand alone in the dining room, wondering on what you should do.

What’s your move?
