Chapter 10 by Ragnockae136 Ragnockae136

The Bride/Brides-To-Be Are??????????????????????????

Arya Stark and Margaery Tyrell

Aegon Brought The Lords Before Him and Spoke. "You All Served Me Well in The War Against The New Nine Penny Kings, and I Wanted You All Here, To Help Me Decide Whom I'd Reward with A Royal Marriage. It Wasn't As Easy As I'd Have Liked, But I've Made My Decision. I Shall Marry Lady Margaery Tyrell." Says Aegon as The Entire Reachmen Pressnt Cheer. "However, I Shall Do As My Father Did Before Me, and Take A Second Queen. I Shall Take Lady.....................Arya Stark As My Second Queen and Consort." Says Aegon as The Entirety of Northmen Present Give Thunderous Cheers To the Decision, But Of Course Lady Sansa Was Scandalised. "This Now Brings Me To The Matter of My Vacant Master of Ships Position. Lord Randall Tarly, I Name You My New Master of Ships." Says Aegon as He Stands Up and Walks Over to Lady Arya and Lady Margaery and Offers Both Of Them His Hands.

The Realm Was Celebrating The Upcoming Joining Of King Aegon VI Targaryen and Lady Arya Stark and Lady Margaery Tyrell. But Even As They Celebrated This Upcoming Marriage, They Mourned The Unexpected and Untimely Passing of The Kings Hand, Jon Connington. So Soon After Naming A New Master of Ships, Aegon Was **** to Choose A New Hand, and A Few Lords Were Clamoring to Fill The Void Position, Aegon Like with his Vanguard Leader, Was More Certain Of Who He Would Name As His Hand Than One Would Think.

He Was The Dragon of Dorne, The Warden of The Stepstones, and The Breaker of Armies, But Aegon Sought to Honor His Father's Legacy More Than Anything Else. So Aegon Decided, That He Would Name One Man, One Once Rebellious Man, As Hand of The King. But That Would Wait, For Aegon Had A Small Council Matter to Deal With.

"The Hand of The King, Dead, Of A Monumental Stroke? Not How I Wanted To Remember The Old Griffin, But The Gods Decide When We Join Them, Do They not?" Asks A Surprisingly Philosophical Aegon. "Indeed, But Which Gods Your Grace?" Asks Varys. "Very True Varys, So Very Very True. What's The Status of Our Hold on The Stepstones?" Asks Aegon. "Our Men Stationed There Have Reported Little Difficulty in Maintaining Control of the Stepstones, But What Do You Plan To Do Your Grace?" Asks Grand Maester Pycelle. "Grand Maester Prepare An Edict, To Be Sent to The Great Houses of Westeros. Let it Be Known That From This Day Forward, The Stepstones, and All the Surrounding Territories Save Those Not of Westeros or Currently Claimed, Are Granted Jointly to House Lannister and House Tyrell. The Tyrell's Will Occupy The Innermost Islands, While House Lannister Will Occupy the Outermost. The Stepstones In Control of House Tyrell Are Granted Specifically, To Ser Loras Tyrell and Lord Mace. Lord Mace is To Maintain The Rule of The Isles, While The Knight of Flowers Controls the Fleets and Armies." Says Aegon.

Aegon took a Sip From His Wine Glass, and Looked at Lord Mace Tyrell. "Lord Tarly I want to Begin Recouping Our Losses in regards to our Fleet, Start by Offering Lowered Taxes to Any Captains who Join the Royal Fleet. Meanwhile, I Want To Have Our Workers Begin Rebuilding As Many Ships as Quickly As Possible, Our Waters Are ****, So Focus on the More Maneuverable and Easily Built Ships for the Coming Year." Says Aegon. "Surely The Tyrell and Iron Fleets would Suffice My Liege?" Asks Tyrell. "Normally They Would Aye, But The Fact is, We Need The Royal Fleet Rebuilt and Guarding Our Waters, To Use Otherwise Shows a Weakness." Says Aegon. "Understood Your Grace." Says Tarly. "What Of The Houses of The Realm? Any Houses We Can Exploit into Matches that prevent revolt?" Aegon Asks, Looking At Varys As He Says This.

"Lady Arya Brings With Her Several Northern Girls of High Birth with Many Potential Matches, as Does Lady Margaery." Says Varys. "Hmm, What of The Young Wolf? He's Unmarried, Why Not Marry Him with My Daughter Tala?" Suggests Lord Randall Tarly. "I'm Marrying His Sister Arya, and Marrying Tala to Robb Stark Could Doubly Secure The Starks and Northern Houses To Our Side. Perhaps, We Could Take This A Bit Further. Lord Stark Has The Most Children of The Great Houses, Mostly Sons It Is True, But If We Were to Encourage A Match of Say Ser Loras and Lady Asha Greyjoy? We'd Gain The Greyjoy's Loyalty and Give Them Less Incentive To Raid Reach Shores. Maybe Even Sansa Stark and Trystane Martell? Let's Start Small, With These Matches." Says Aegon. "What if We Used The Royal Wedding As A Means to Promote These Matches? It Would Be A Suitable Cover and Reason to make introductions?" Suggest The, Until Now, Silent Tyrion Lannister's Aide Samwell Tarly.

The Small Council Looks Thoughtful at this Idea, and A Couple Nods and Murmurs of Agreement Follow Soon After. "I Agree, I Say We End This Discussion Here, and Reconvene At Sunset for A Final Decision." Says Aegon. "A Sound Idea Your Grace." Says The Ever Humbling Varys. "Grand Maester, I Have A Matter to Discuss that I Need Certain Expertise on, Your Perhaps The Only One Qualified To Answer this Matter." Says Aegon as The Gand Maester Gets up. As Everyone Leaves, Aegon Waits until the Door closes before Speaking. "The Tarly Lad? His Mind is Exceptionally Capable, I Think We Should Send Him To The Citadel To Lear As A Novice, Not To Become A Maester, but to Give Him A Maester's Education. Can You Arrange This?" Asks Aegon. "Of Course Your Grace, I Can Send Word to The Citadel At Once." Says Pycelle. "Then You Are Dismissed Grand Maester. So Do it, For Now I Have a New Matter to Attend to." Says Aegon as He Leaves the Small Council Chamber.

Aegon Was Discussing A Matter With His Mother and Lord Tarly............

That Matter Being????
