Chapter 11 by fishcrem
Does Katarina give in to the imp's demands?
No of course not.
What am I thinking? Must be the storm talking. Anyway I need to get the information...I guess I'll just hit him again.
"No imp, not going to happen so stop trying." Katarina watched the imp wearily, trying to think of a good question to ask. The imp gave her one however when his tail stopped flopping around and darted forward, the tip of it aiming straight for her neck.
Luckily, the tail was too short and couldn't really reach her as she stepped back. Katarina grabbed the imp's tail as it stretched out and stepped on the middle part, pinning it to the floor.
"Oh, what was that imp? What would have happened if you managed to hit me in the neck?" She twisted her foot, crushing his tail into the floor. The demon yelped in pain.
"Ok, ok Mistress please stop that! imp tell you. Tail have venom to make women horny. Not as strong as our cum though. Ow ow OW!" Katarina eased up on the tail but made sure to keep her sandals between her foot and the tip. She waved the hammer threateningly at the imp.
"Right, who is this Lord Xandius?"
"Oh imp tell you that one for free. Lord Xandius is my master. He is a powerful greater demon, demon ruler of this part of Kourend. You have no chance with him."
"We'll see about that... Why haven't I heard of this demon ruler before?" Katarina was actually intrigued now. Surely some powerful demon would have been slain by a mighty hero. There were always stories about a group of adventurers going on grand quests to defeat dragons and demons for the good of the land.
"Ohhh, this village not important, nothing really happens here so the master ignores it. We are just here because we were horny during the storm and was passing through."
Katarina felt anger flaring up again. There were 10 demons in the village all because they couldn't keep their cocks in their pants?
"I think I've heard enough imp." She raised the hammer and smashed it down onto its face. Bone crunched and Katarina could feel the recoil go up her arm, not unlike when she was hammer metal on the anvil. She checked to see the imp was truly dead. It didn't seem to be breathing and there was no heartbeat. She was just about to throw the body into the barrels of water in the forge to get it out of the way but it burst into unnatural flames and she yelped, jumping back.
The flame had no heat to it and it burned out quickly leaving only a small pile of white ash. Katarina stared for a second before she shook her head. She had to go save the village. Before that though, she had to equip herself properly. The hammer was powerful but it lacked any sort of range and she was weary of getting stabbed by the imp's tails now that she knew what they were capable of.
There really wasn't much choice for weapons in the Lewin forge. Pinehurst was a peaceful town far from anything important. They mostly made horseshoes and farming equipment. Katarina looked at the wall of tools, deep in thought.
Katarina left the large axes and saws, too heavy and inefficient for her small frame. She grabbed a hunting knife, its thin curved blade was more suited to skinning an animal but she wasn't about to be picky. Then she grabbed her work belt and attached the knife, still in its sheath to her left side. Next Katarina studied the longer tools standing in a barrel at the far corner of the shop. Hoes, shovels and pitchforks were decent in a fight and she was only going to be fighting imps. Still, the tools were not ideal.
Ah! Katarina suddenly recalled the perfect solution to her problem. Behind the counter there was a long wooden handle with cloth wrapped around one end. Picking it up she unwrapped the end revealing the silver glint of good steel. The blade was about a handspan in length and two razor sharp edges ran down from a curved tip towards the haft of the spear. A young female elf had brought it in a couple of months ago with a broken haft. She had paid for the weapon to be fixed but never came back for it. Hopefully she was alright and had just forgotten about it. Grabbing the spear with both hands, she got a feel for the weight and made a few swings and stabs.
Thinking that she was well prepared now Katarina walked up to the front door and unbarred it. The storm had passed due to her long conversation with the imp and she could feel her thoughts becoming clearer. She poked her head out into the street and strained her ears to listen for any sign of trouble. There didn't seem to be any at the moment.
Now I just need to decide where to go first.
Where does Katarina go?
