Brandon and Ashley finally came out of their tent and Victoria went in to wake up Gavin. Chloe scanned the group of teens with concern. "Zack and Heather never came back?"

Gavin popped his head out of the tent. "Zack's missing?"

"Well he's clearly not here," Chloe's alarm grew.

"Everybody calm down," Kurt spoke between bites of bacon. "I don't know about Zack, but Heather knows these woods. They probably got caught up on the other side of the lake and she didn't want to cross so late at night."

"But where did they stay then?" Gavin turned to help Victoria back out of their tent. "We have all the tents."

"Probably at the cabin," Kurt rolled his eyes like that was the obvious answer. "Can I get one of those sausages?"

Leon offered him the plate. "If you guys are worried, I can take our boat and go across the river to look."

A twig snapped and everyone quickly turned to see Zack and Heather strolling out of the woods. Chloe ran to Zack and threw herself at him. He caught her in a surprised hug. Heather looked at Chloe and blinked.

"They thought you'd drowned or been **** by aliens or something and were planning a rescue party," Kurt gave a satisfied belch as he finished another sausage.

"So did you find out who Uncle Rob was banging?" Kurt finally turned his attention away from the food.

"No," Zack responded. "We tried to peek in on him but got caught. He was pretty mad and locked us in the cabin bedrooms all night."

Heather was surprised at how quickly he'd lied but also thankful. "So what's the plan for today?"

The group discussed various options for a while and ultimately decided that they'd like to just head back to the cabin and rest. They divvied up chores and set about breaking down tents and cleaning up the campsite. Meagan nodded and headed back to let Caitlin and Leon know her plans. It took about an hour to get everything ready and another hour to get everyone back across the lake, but they managed to get everything put away in time for people to settle down for lunch.
