Chapter 260 by JoeSte91 JoeSte91

Did her father manage to convince the board? Or find out what secret Peter's been hiding?

It Takes a Village

Heather brought her car to a stop at the foot of a path, a valet waiting diligently to sweep the vehicle away to an unseen parking lot. Nothing could be allowed to spoil the view of the gleaming white hotel, colonial revival in style, with columns and evenly spaced windows allowing one just as pretty a picture inside as out. The pathway led to a set of steps that brought Heather and Zack to the accented doorway entrance, a small, unobtrusive sign gently reminding them that they were entering Ravers Lake Hotel.

It was impressive, in its own way. Not tall and intimidating like Ravers Palace Hotel, an indomitable staple of the Azure Rock’s skyline, bested only by Ravers’ Enterprises main building; the Lake hotel sat wide and squat atop a level manmade mound that allowed it to both take shelter in the woodland greenery and overlook the crystal clear lake, it’s reflection like a mirror image. And yet, despite its gorgeous views and perfect location, people still preferred to stay in the smaller, cosier cabins on the other side of the lake.

Zack had never been to Ravers Lake Hotel, and for good reason. Realising that competing with the cabins would only ever split the profits, Robert Ravers rebranded the lake hotel as an elite place to stay and dine. Let families have the cabins, for those who wanted to experience another level of hospitality with a view most people could only dream of, Ravers Lake Hotel was there to accommodate their every need. As such it became the premier spot for businesses and companies to hold conferences and fundraisers, such as the charity gala Zack and Heather were attending tonight.

The dark-haired daughter of Robert Ravers led Zack through the hotel, past the front desk and through the fifteen square foot ballroom, large enough that desks and chairs for dinner could be set out, with a stage at one end and still there was enough space in the centre for a dance floor. Even more impressive was the view over the lake through the large clear windows that lined one side of the ballroom. And yet, no one was looking at the lake. Everyone was staring at Heather Ravers.

“Do these people know you?” Zack asked, looking around at the eyes, all of them darting away when noticed.

“They’re my father’s employees. They know of me, and when you’re the boss’s daughter, you become something of a spectacle,” Heather remarked, ignoring the people. “This what you have to look forward to Zack, if the test results say you are my father’s son.”

Zack chuckled as he glanced sideways at Heather’s figure, toned from years of cheerleading, her confidence deepening her sex appeal. “I don’t anyone will ever look at me the way people look at you,” he said, lightly laughing again.

She smiled at the veiled compliment, as they crossed the room, the panelled walls painted pink by the sinking sun. Nightfall was upon them, and the gala would be starting soon.

“Come on,” she called to Zack, his pace slowing as he continued to be taken in by the effortless majesty of the hotel. “If my dad was successful, he’ll meet us back here.”

“You can just come and go as you please?” Zack asked, following her through a white door, the same colour and style as the rest of the wall, distinguished only by a rectangular sign that read ‘staff only’. “And you seem to know your way around pretty well, so this isn’t your first time, I guess.”

“Again, perks of being the boss’ daughter,” Heather said, as they passed a few employees going the opposite direction, none of whom questioned the presence of the two teens. “You forget that I grew up here. These places were my playgrounds. I could walk them in my sleep.”

“Really?” Zack asked, mildly shocked.

“This side houses the hardwood ballroom we just passed through, a spa and pool in the basement, while the upper floors are the hotel rooms, known as the Silver Lake Suites,” Heather set about proving she knew everything about the building, first motioning towards the lake though it was no longer visible, then to the opposite side. “The rooms on this side are known as the Zaffre Falls Suites, and below that-”

Zack shook his head, “No, I meant, you growing up here. With how rich your family is, kinda seems like they could have gotten you a nanny, or a babysitter or something,” Zack interjected, imagining the infant Heather crawling around the hotel halls unsupervised while her parents worked, none the wiser.

“Oh, they did, but I kept escaping. Eventually, my dad decided it would be easier to just to bring me to work with him,” Heather explained, noting to herself that it was another instance of her father being worn down until he accepted what Heather wanted. She was beginning to see a pattern. “I think my mum would have preferred to keep me in day care, but in the end, this was the path of least resistance.”

“You sound like a handful,” Zack said with a laugh, his mind briefly thinking about whether his child with Heather would be just as lively. His mind snapped back, horrified at himself, at how casually he’d just considered the kid he might be having with his possible half-sister. He shook the thoughts from his head.

They rounded the corner to another corridor, much like the last but only walked a few steps before Heather turned to another inconspicuous door, this one labelled ‘waiting area’. Inside were two sofas, positioned to face each other with a glass inset coffee table separating them. In one corner there were counters, a sink and a fridge. On another wall was another door, this one with no markets, but it sat ajar, just enough to see the beginnings of a shower inside, clearly a bathroom. Next to the door they had just entered was a buzzer and an intercom.

There was one other thing in the room, though he was not a permanent fixture. Rising from the sofa as the teens entered, Robert Ravers had to think fast on his feet as his daughter leapt onto him, wrapping her arms around his neck. His large, powerful hands quickly gripped her waist and ass, feeling her young, taut body melt against his, her heat filling his palms. He stumbled back, slightly as he adjusted to support her weight, but even once he had, they remained like that, embraced, their bodies seemingly moulded together.

Behind them, Zack coughed, reminding them of his presence. He felt awkward, watching them, though not because they were father and daughter, engaging in an overly affectionate hug. After everything he’d done with a girl who might be his sister, and worse thinking about a woman who was very definitely his mother while he did it, Zack couldn’t really protest. No, the awkwardness he felt was just plain, third-wheel awkwardness.

Blushing slightly, an action that seemed completely incompatible with his personality, Robert dropped his daughter to her feet and parted, holding her away by her shoulders. Heather just grinned, looking over her shoulder at Zack, enjoying how uncomfortable both men seemed to be. If only they knew that one had fucked her only hours ago and one would be fucking her only hours later.

“So…” Zack began, simply talking to break the tension. “Did you manage to convince the board?”

Did Robert manage to convince the board? If not, do they need a new plan?
